I just made Allisa's pesto stuffed mushrooms and I made it with button, crimini and portobello mushrooms. The pesto was excellent! And I love the stuffed mushrooms. They were so good! But ultra rich. I had to put half mine away for later.
Anyway I thought the portobello mushrooms tasted better than the button. They were a little sweeter and softer. They absorbed the oil from the pesto much more than the button. I also like crimini better than button. However they were all good. If I were going to serve them to guests I would probably make a variety of different mushrooms. I'm afraid I'm going to have to figure out how to afford her book now! :D
