Oh my gosh!!! What a great 'eat'! I wasn't looking particularly to have a meat burger substitute, just to find a substantial food to have with my salad stuff.
The only thing I left out was celery because I don't like it but other than that I followed the recipe exactly.
This is going to be a regular meal for me - I can't tell you how good it was so you'll all have to try it and see (if you haven't already)!

Sorry, I was so excited about this recipe that I forgot to put the source of it in the post!!
Where would we be without the wonderful moderators like Rawkinlocs who have encyclopaedic knowledge???
The Raw Table website is great - the lemon chewies are better than any cooked cookies I've tasted!!

Hi. I am new and am lurking around collecting recipes to go with the ones in Alissa's book. Would you have this recipe handy? It is no longer on the mentioned website. It's funny that I purchased an Excalibur dehydrator for my husband (the jerky king) for Christmas and this purchase caused me to rediscover eating raw after I had purchased her book over a year ago but did not really give it a chance. Right now I would say I am about 80 - 85% raw and am really enjoying it. I am trying new recipes (with and without the dehydrator) as quick as I can find them. I have made the carrot pecan burgers twice but want more variety and these seem to be more satisfying at times when fruits and/or salads will not do. Thanks for the reply.
Ohhh.. Maraw... I would love this recipe as well. I'm also hoping to make your lemon chewies either today or tomorrow... I think I finally have ALL the ingredients!

The cookies are on Maraw's site: www.therawtable.com
The top link on the right says: "raw food recipes" then the Lemon Chewies recipe is on the right column.

I just looked at Maraw's site and no burgers to be found. We're patiently waiting. I'm ready to post my Better than Rice recipe. It's delish to me.

I just emailed Anna aka Maraw... hopefully she'll post it. I haven't made a "burger" in a while and can use a new recipe! (hope there's no mushrooms... every recipe seems to call for them and I can't get myself to eat them... )

If it doesn't require me putting it in the dehhydrator I would be super happy as I have to lug mine out being so bulky but I would have to wait for the finished product. I'm into "now" if possible rewards. Patiently waiting.

You guys are so funny! I make a few small changes to the site, and WAPAM! There's total chaos and mahem - OK, so not total mahem... I just thought it was time to trade a few of the older recipes in for a couple of newer models.
Here is the burger recipe: http://www.therawtable.com/recipecoll/burger.htm
And the chewies recipe is still there.
It brings me a great deal of joy to know the are enjoyed.
Thanks Anna and I'm super happy that there are no mushrooms. I'm going to make this one!

Yeah! I LOVE these - they are definitely my fav. "burger" recipe that I've tried. In fact, I think it's fabulous as just a pate as well, and I have had a tough time finding pate recipes I like. Spread some on a romaine lettuce leaf, sprinkle on some toppings, roll up and YUM!
Thank you Anna for linking us up again! I switched operating systems and can't access my old recipe file where I had this recipe stored. Needless to say, I was in a (mild) state of mayhem when I found it was gone. :-)

Thanks Anna for sharing the burger.
Can I cut back on some nuts? Which ones? Thinking lots of fat and no control..
Can I avoid using the dehydrator too? I have one.
This would be a goodie to travel with on the plane, but first I have to see if they will let me--gotta read what you can and can't bring for the 90 minute ride to Dallas area next week.

I've not deviated much from the original recipe, so it would hard to know where to cut back. They are pretty filling and I don't think it would take much control to stop eating! If you are going to carry them on a place though, I would definitely dehydrate them so they don't spoil.
Let me know what you decide to do and how they turn out!

I still haven't been able to find the cow burger recipe.
Sometimes these messages get so convoluted. So many branches, etc.
It would sure help if people would be sure to respond to the last message posted :(

I love the happy cow burgers!! They have been made several times in the last year, and I'm glad to say that I always print off the recipe, so I have it for later.
I'm going to make some chocolate chewies and some cinnamon macaroons for an upcoming camping trip!:D Anna's a genious!
