My mom is worried about my raw diet and the detox I've been going through. She has been making me take natural kelp tablets (Whcih I really dont mind taking) for iodine (which has helped my skin, I think I was starting to develop thyroid problems, proud to announce that they helped). She has also made a new rule that I have to have one organic egg or slice of wild salmon with my breakfast and a piece of sprouted bread with my lunch. I fought a bit in my defense, but not too much. In my family what the parent says, goes. Strangely enough, the egg or bread didnt make me feel sick or bloated, but I think Im starting to gain a noticeable amount of weight. My God-knows-how-old-scale says not, but I think its unbalanced. I feel like I am and my pants are all tighter... Is this a normal side-effect of adding more cooked foods?

You could be bloating or having some gas issues with the combination of cooked and raw together. Either of those may not show up as much of a weight gain, but would increase inches.

Yes, cooked food causes weight gain. Famers know this and I have heard that to fatten hogs, they will go through a lot of work to cook the pig's food rather than feed it to them raw. If you have ever read Fit for Life they reccomend eating just fruit in the morning until you are really hungry, because fruit won't stop the detox cycle that occurs at night and in the morning.
