Hi
So my one month raw is on Feb 8th and I decided it would be great to make it a BIG deal and have a raw food dinner party to celebrate. I'm inviting about 8- 10 people and I'm catering it ( since I LOVE to make the recipes )
I'm curious of your experience making raw food for non raw foodies - and which ones made the biggest impressions!
of course I'm making the date nut torte....
but I'd love to hear any other ideas.
Thanks!!! Wish you could all come to my party!!!!!!

Catherine,
I brought the date-nut torte to a Potluck yesterday but rather than make it round, I made it square, then cut it into the size of petit fours and topped each square with a blueberry and wedge of strawberry. It was a hit. And it was easy for everyone to take a square. Just a thought.
I believe Allison brought tropical pizza. Ohhhhh, that was delectable.
Congrats early on your achievement of one month raw!! :)

Mock Salmon and onion crackers is a big hit here. I am going to make them for my Rawfood Potluck on Feb. 19th. I am also going to be taking some with me to a raw food rest. a week later to show them how great it is. Could be they might stary selling it there at some date.

Catherine: I brought Alissa's torte to a party two weeks ago and it was a hit. I served it with a bit of fruit compote and berries over it, though I think it might be great sitting in a pool of the juice too!
I sliced cucumbers and served it with her moc salmon pate. This I think would be a good one for visitors used to rich yummy dips.
I think that sliced fruits, especially the exotic type like kiwi and starfruit are nice at parties, as well as the old standby of pineapple and strawberries...
Have fun!
Cassy:)

Catherine-
I just posted a pic and recipe for raw lasagne- it was so wonderful and it is easy! It looks like a lot work with the ingredients and all, but it only took me 20 minutes tops to prepare- It fills a 9x13 tray too- so it will go a long way! And no dehydrator needed!
Have fun at your party and congrats!
Melissa
Here is the thread for the lasagne-

Make cookies with ground nuts (or not butter), dates, raw oats, banana, and anything else you have on hand. Someone posted a "truffle" made with frozen blueberries a while ago and they are delicious.
