I've eaten this way for 2 weeks and have lost approx. 8 pounds.
I had a water weight gain of 5 pounds and the next day they were gone. Everytime i attempt raw it get's easier, the recipes on the forum and the book are very, very helpful in my raw journey.
Even though i don't seem to see much of a change when i get on my scales i can see some changes in my mirror and that's great.

I did 4 weeks 100% raw back in February and lost 14lbs but then we had a family bereavement, lots of stuff to do about that and I went back to my usual eating and put the 14 lbs back on plus 7 more.

That's why from yesterday I'm starting a 30 day challenge with a view to extending it to another 30 days at the end, and so on.

Small goals are more achievable for me than bigger unrealistic ones.

Yes, there are plenty of people who lose a massive amount of weight right away -- or even a moderate amount of weight. And then there are those of us who don't -- or only lose a few pounds and sit and wonder...

I hate to be the downer, but if for some reason you don't lose right away, I didn't want you to get discouraged and give up eating this way. I have posted many, many times asking why I am not losing weight -- too much fat, not enough fruit, etc. Then I am continually altering the way I eat -- and that stresses me out. And stress, in turn, makes you hold onto weight.

I woke up today deciding that I am just going to eat the way I want to eat -- as long as it is raw. My advice (and I hope you are one of the fortunate ones who loses weight right away) is just eat raw, enjoy what you are eating, and the weight will (eventually) come off.

WOW -- where did that positive comment come from??? (she asks herself.) I guess this way of life is starting to affect me :p

I have lost 10 1/2 lbs in 13 days. This is my first attempt at 100% raw. I know the more you have to lose, the faster you will lose it. So, since I would like to lose about 60 lbs total (50 to go!), I was hoping I would have this quick start to keep me going strong. I assume that the more I lose the slower it will go. I don't know what to expect on the low end of my weight because I have been overweight since elementary school and I don't know what my body's ideal really is. So, as long as I look healthy and feel great, I am not going to worry about the final number!

So true what rachelmh said! My weight has been flexuating so much. But I have lost 2 pounds, which makes me get up and dance since it's hard for me to lose any weight! So yeah, don't be discouraged if you wake up the next morning and weigh yourself, or maybe the next week and so on...you will lose it eventually! But while your waiting to lose it, you'll feel amazing!! I feel lighter and happier while eating raw! You have a better appreciation of what you are eating, a piece of fruit makes me smile now!

the first time I went 100% I lost a lot of weight on the 30 day challenge then I got sick and started eating hot soups etc and it was down hill on the raw foods after that. BUT it took me ages to gain it all back which to me means it was more then water weight but actual fat loss. Now I am transitioning again and losing so I think its almost impossible not to lose, if you have something to lose that is!

I lost 20 pounds in the first few weeks. I also came down with this nasty detox illness, and couldn't hardly eat anything for about a week. So I was concerned that some of that 20 pounds would come back when I began eating again, but NOPE, 10 more have come off, quite effortlessly, I may add.

If you will entertain a tiny bit of advice, try to do this to FEEL better and get healthier, instead of just to lose weight. If your goal is health, then you will be reaping positive results every minute of every day. If your goal is just to lose weight, you set yourself up for a rollercoaster of emotional ups and downs, as the scale fluctuates around or doesn't do exactly what you expect it to.

Cheers!
Eve

Going to do the raw challenge again soon.

Lost 5lbs in 3 days before. I'm already a big water drinker. I believe my body loved not having processed, dead, super heated foods in it.

You will loose weight but don't make that your main reason to go raw. It is more important to concentrate on having the best health ever. The weight is going to come off. It will take as long as it has to take depending on what is more prevelant...your assisting health issues (known or unknown) or you wanting to loose weight.

One thing that I have noticed, is that no matter how much weight I am loosing I am able to maintain it!! That is the best thing!! On "diets" either I would stop after 2 weeks because of boredom or I would loose 20-25lbs. only to gain it back in two weeks. Who needs that??!! Raw is the best thing that has happened to me! I have lost over 70lbs and still loosing!

"WOW -- where did that positive comment come from??? (she asks herself.) I guess this way of life is starting to affect me" Go Rachel!! You are on the right track! Just stay there with that frame of mind and it will happen!!

Embrace and Enjoy your journey

I've lost about 10 pounds in 20 days and I feel great! It's definitely a much happier way for me to eat. I have way more energy, I feel good about everything I put in my body. Mostly I feel a tremendous freedom from all the negatives that were associated with eat SAD (emotional, mental and physical) not to mention my kitchen is easier to clean and I'm spending less on food without buying processed and fast food items.

I lost around 30 pounds in 7 months raw(I don't think I lost anything the last several months if you don't count 5 pounds which I gained back while I was off and on for two weeks untill I caught the raw wave again - so now I lost them again. My body went to its natural weight - around 120(114 on my scales). Love it and not just for weight. I like to feel stronger and more energetic.

When I started this 18 months ago, I lost maybe five pounds the first couple weeks and no more (then gained it all back when I started slipping . . .) This time, I lost maybe three pounds the first couple weeks and then nothing more.

I don't have much to lose, but it does make it feel like nothing's happening when the weight stays exactly the same.

I look at this as a WAY OF LIFE, A LIFE CHANGE. The first three letters in DIEt well......I think when you put your soul into losing weight, you miss it and that is why you fall off the wagon. It is MY LIFESTYLE THAT I CHOSE. As we all chose.........I have a full belly and I'm happy and I haven't lost any weight and I could care less.(*_*) But I do feel your pain. Again we are all different and in different stages of life and everything else. I am no spring chicken like most of you and a lot of things don't matter. Now kissing the SUN every morning matters to me. I'm in this to LIVE A LONG AND HEALTHY LIFE............

I've lost 14 kg (30,80 lbs) so far in 4½ months on high raw. During this time I have gained a bit when I ate cooked and shed it again once back on raw. Good luck, I am sure you can do it! And by the way, it was the same that got me into it but it is niot the only thing which keep me at it. I feel better about myself on raw and I feel closer to my body. Before I would stuff something into my body and I would nit think of it again except perhaps have bad conscience, now I think about what I eat and I enjoy it, I am aware of how I digest it and how I feel. I love that aspect! All in all I have gained better respect for my body, believe it or not, I am even beginning to feel the urge to excercise and I have never felt that way before!

I've been 100% raw for 3 weeks today and I've only lost 7 pounds. I say only because last year I lost 20 pounds in three weeks, then gained it back during the hurricane.

I'm sticking with it though.

Hi :D
This is my 5th day of the 100% raw challenge. I cheated and got on the scale this morning, and I've already lost almost 5 pounds :D
