Hi! I've heard different opinions on Nama Shoya and Bragg's, and I was wondering, are they different? And are they good for you?

If you know anything on this please let me know!

Thank you!

My opinion, is that neither are a health food. If you're switching to raw and having trouble giving up standard soy sauces, you may choose to use one for a while. Nama Shoyu is in my opinion the better choice. Nama meaning raw. It does contain both soy and wheat, but to me appears to be less processed than Bragg's.

I would never suggest to anyone to add them into their diet for health reasons though, and if you search back through the archives here you'll find that many people react to them. I have a very strong system, but if I eat Bragg's I start retaining massive amounts of water (doesn't happen with salt).

When I first went raw a couple of years ago we were almost addicted to Bragg's. It went in everything and we were going through a medium sized bottle each month (shocking amount). That only lasted a few months though. All clear now!

That's my story!
