Greetings, everyone,
I keep saying that I'm waiting for Alissa's book so you know that I have ordered it, and will DEVOUR it when it arrives, but in the meantime, I have questions.
Is food combining necessary to the raw lifestyle? I've seen a few posts on it.
Can you eat beans raw? How do they taste? Can you dehydrate them or something so that they're not hard and starchy? I have 2 recipes for bean burgers that I absolutely LOVE, but they are not raw. I'd like to find a way to adapt them so that they are raw, but I can't imagine just using dried beans...blech! LOL...
Which books would you recommend to learn about raw, aside from Alissa's? I'm looking for books about the lifestyle, benefits, etc, - more than just a cookbook, although I'll be looking for those too.
Does anyone here use TVP or TSP? It's soy protein. I've made chili with it, and burgers. It calls for boiling the water first, so I guess that's not raw...this sounds really silly, but if you just warm the water instead of boiling it, would that then make it raw? Or is it in the processing of the TSP?
Also, when I make the transition to 100% raw, what can I expect? Will I feel crappy at first, as my body adjusts? Or, if I have been avoiding animal products but just been about 25% "not" raw, is it easier? Are detox symptoms from dairy, wheat, and meat?
Sorry so many questions, I am very very excited because it's only been a short while I've been on this journey, but I feel really good! No more bloated, stuffed feeling. I FEEL lighter. I don't stress about food. And no cooking! I LOVE that! LOL...
Thanks, everyone, for your help. I really appreciate it.
