Find me a good tomato soup recipe and I might go 100% ;)
But seriously, this is always my downfall. I do NOT like the taste of raw tomatoes. I know that eventually my tastebuds will change, but until then, is there anyway to make a tomato soup that TASTES like the cooked version? I really like Tomato Bisque if you have one for that too.
I thought about adding raw broth to the pasta sauce from Alissa's book, but I don't think it would taste as good if it were not on the pasta. Plus, when I use the sauce on pasta I use so little of it because I am still adjusting to the taste. With a little AND the pasta I can imagine it tastes like tomato sauce.
So anyways, sorry for the rambling, any ideas for Tomato Soup or Tomato Bisque?? Thanks, Paula

I know what you mean Paula... I just had a craving for a tomato soup so I whipped up something on my own- It was like tomato froth... gross. I had to hold my nose and gulp it down...
I know that the Chili recipe is really good, and could be a sub for you until you find something else...I don't have the link, but just go to 'search' at the top of the page, and search for RAW CHILI. The recipe will be in that thread. The chili uses two avocados to give it a creamy texture... and sundried tomatoes richen it up for a more tomato paste like taste... I love this recipe and I have made it 3 times already... If you want more of a creamy overall result, try throwing all the ingredients in the processor... Oh, and you really don't need to put this in the dehydrator incase you don't have one- it just makes it warm. If you eat it right after making it, it should be a great temperature already.
Hope this helps :)

Here is my recipe for Roasted Tomato Cream Soup, which I concocted in November, with my notes from that day (I have tried it with spinach (yum) and I still haven't made a grilled cheese to go with it..):
OMG. I have to set this down now.
6? sundried tomatoes and 3 dates soaked in almond milk
1 2/3 fresh plum vine tomatoes
fresh oregano
fresh basil
himalayan crystal salt
sweet vidalia onion cut into rings and whole garlic cloves coated with cold pressed olive oil, and set in the dehydrator to "roast"
blend everything (inc the almond milk) in the blender
I think I soaked the tomatoes and dates for about 3 hrs, and dehydrated the onions and garlic for about an hour. I've had great results from dehydrating onions for just 20 min, and the dried fruit can be soaked for a lot less time as well.
Mine came out tremendously spicy - not bad as I love spicy, but in this case I was looking for something that didn't take work to eat. I thought the culprit was the mammoth garlic on steroids I used (2 insanely sized cloves), but when I tasted the leftover onion, I was surprised at the bite that had.
This is so so good. I can't wait to try it as the sauce for a raw pizza..it will be perfect. I didn't have much almond milk, so the consistency and taste this came out to would be perfect for that. Next time I want to try more liquid for a slightly thinner soup..and I need to figure out something to eat with it. For the life of me I can't remember what I used to eat yummy slightly spicy tomato soup with in Holland other than bread and butter. Hmm, maybe toasties (basically grilled cheese sandwiches)? I'll have to come up with a live version..
Hmm..also want to try adding some slightly dehydrated spinach for texture..

Sweet lips -
I am too!! I have been considering using a variation on the onion bread that's been on here - that could work well. Juliano's toast may work better tho..I will let you know!
I'm in DC, btw. You are pretty close, right?
