My oldest child turned 13 yesterday. ;) She wanted banana splits for her birthday. They all had vegan ones. I decided to make a raw one for myself. It tasted just like the ones they were having. (At least how I remember them tasting last time I had one)

All I did was make ice cream with my Champion juicer. I started by making vanilla, then I threw in some strawberries and then some carob. So I had vanilla, strawberry and carob ice cream. Then I sliced some bananas over it.

I made a carob sauce to put over it. I soaked some dates and then blended them with carob, a little vanilla and a little bit of stevia.

It was very good. I wish I took a picture but I didn't think about it.

Well......
:o :o :o :o

It was really hot in the house this morning so......

I made it again. I took pictures but have to wait until I get the film developed. :)

The kids thought it was cool to have banana splits for breakfast!

I love the idea of having ice cream for breakfast! even my grown kids ask me "Mom' what are you doing? as I 'teached' (spell deliberate!) them, that they had to eat all their food and then they would get 'ice cream' now eat it breakfast, lunch, or dinner and say ah, what a beautiful RAW world! Joz

Hi, how do you make ice cream in a juicer? How much does a champion cost? I'm new, and still learning a lot.

If you get a Champion (or Green Star) they come with a screen or a blank insert! you use the screen for juicing and the blank for nut butters, ice cream etc. Champions usually run about $250 do a google search and check out both. The Green Star is a twin gear and is more complicated--unless you juice a lot (it's supposed to give you more nutrients by the twin gear extraction)they are a lot more. I would get a Champion. Sometimes health food stores sell used ones in good conditions. Joz

You can also make banana ice cream in a food processer, just toss in the frozen bananas with the carob or strawberries or whatever and let it run until the consistency is right.
