COCONUTS BENEFITS
by Jeremy Safron

The coconut is one of the greatest gifts of this planet.
Coconuts are a prehistoric plant which can survive many months floating at sea.
The coconut is a natural water filter that takes almost 9 months to filter each liter of water. The water travels through many fibers being purified where it is stored away STERILE in the nut itself.
This coconut water is pure clear and is one of the highest sources of electrolytes known to man.
Coconut water is identical to human blood plasma which makes it the universal donor. Plasma makes up 55% of human blood. By drinking coconuts we give ourselves a instant blood transfusion.
Many peoples lives have been saved in 3rd world countries by the coconut IV.
Coconuts in their young stage of growth are the most health enhancing.
Drink at least one a day (I drink 5 or 6).
Coconuts are a great blood purifier.
Other comments on Young Coconuts:

"It's a natural isotonic beverage, with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. It's the fluid of life, so to speak." In fact, during the Pacific War of 1941-45, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water - siphoned directly from the nut - to give emergency plasma trasfusions to wounded soldiers.

Most coconut water is still consumed fresh in tropical coastal areas - once exposed to air, the liquid rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics, and begins to ferment.

I sure wish I was able to drink 5-6 a day. I can't get enough of them! Ah! I want coconuts so bad now.lol

It makes me really happy that something I enjoy so much, when it comes to food, is also great for me.

Sure am glad I had my coconut today. I almost lost the milk. (It was one of Melissa Coconut. It had directions on the saran wrap cover.) I put the hammer to it and almost lost my milk. I think I am so funny, that is why I did not feel bad when I read the directions last. When all else fails.............You know the story. Now that I know the benifits and know how to get that ball open, I will be doing it more often.

WOW, how wonderful

I knew about the coconut used as blood plasma, but I didn't know all this other good stuff.

OKAY, I will have to go out and buy some of these guys now.

I just hate opening them, but Dragggon is great with a machette' so I'll let him do it. LOL

Thanks so much to both of you, for this information.

I tend to use one of those serrated knives that 'never dull' (the type you see sold at midnight on TV, if you watch TV) and then saw away at the top for a while until it comes off. It is a pain in the butt, but it is a good excersize.

The easiest way I've found to open the little critters, for the young coconuts anway, is to cut off the tip of the tiki hut so you can see the inner shell. Then I take a sturdy pareing knife and twist it around like a drill bit would work to break through the shell. (Note: If you have a very slender tipped knife this may break the tip. However if you buy a knife just for this and break the tip the knife will actually work better after wards. I speak from experience! I have broken knife that I just use for coconuts now *lol*) Then once you push the knife through the shell tip the knife sideways so it is almost horizontal. Then push the knife forward while pressing down on the knife handle, so you are appling pressure to move the knife blade forward while lifting the coconut shell upwards from the inside. 99% of the time a round section of the shell will pop right off.. the knife will naturally want to cut in a circle. It's pretty cool. You can then empty out the water then use a teaspoon to scrape the meat off of the inside of the shell. It is super easy to do, doesn't require anything beyond normal kitchen tools, no male strength needed, and a low chance of loosing fingers and/or limbs. All a good thing :)

I found a great website, complete with caribbean music, on how to open them. It works great! Cut away at the white fibrous outside (around the top) until you see the brown shell. Then take the heal of the knife and hit the nut at an angle. Make a complete circle of cracks and then peel it off. It used to take me forever. Now I open them in minutes!!

I have seen this 'coconut IV' info before, but not sure of the true evidence of it. I have found myself repeating this info to others, however I'd like to be sure of this really happening. I red somewhere of it being used on soldiers in WW II.

It would be nice to have some real documentation on it, if anybody has a reference.

Thanks for posting the 'benefits list' I had some of them, not all. Now we can safely say: A COCONUT A DAY ? AWESOME going for some more.

I wonder why when I donate blood, they all look at how fast it fills up the 'bag' and how rich it is and they ask what I do! I tell them water and Green Smoothies. I even got one of the RN's e-mail and sent her information on raw lifestyle and several recipes.
So Thanks To Coconuts!

"""I will not under any circumstances accept a blood transfusion, but a cocunut transfusion now that would be a possibility."""

I would not accept a blood transfusion! You can donate your own blood to a blood bank for pre-scheduled surgery. You can request a plasma transfusion. It would be interesting to research how would one do a 'coconut transfusion' any bright minds out there that might have an idea how to research this? I did read that in the tropics during a war there was no blood so some did administer the coconut water and people survived. Imagine That? Joz

Joz, my own blood would not be acceptable either. Acts 15:28,29 "keep abstaining....from blood" ........."good health to you".

Yeah the coconut thing is awesome.

Wow!! I wish I could have coconuts! Last time I had one I had coconut oil in a raw cookie I made (i wasn't compltely raw yet so it was out of a jar) and I reacted badly (puffing up and hives). So I'm not sure if an organic raw coconut will be much better or not...I'm afraid to try.

I really believe it is better to eat from the source. I know some people swear by coconut oil, but it is a concentrated fat. It works in recipes as a hardener but I don't personally see it as a health food.

What I do know is that it is great for curly hair and dry skin!

I have been able to order cases of young cocos from a local co-op, and I freeze the meat if not using right away. I really like the water, especially when it's cold and I'm very thirsty.

Yeah the coconut thing is awesome. I just looked Act 15:29 and it talks about eating it as in meats that were offered to idols. But getting your own blood back via IV is not eating it. I do understand the 'blood' issue though. FOR THERE IS LIFE IN THE BLOOD. "Fare ye well"

This I don't think is the place for a religious discusion which I would love to have with you or anyone here for that matter. But I just want to state that scripture does not say merely to abstain from animal blood. Also take a look at Leviticus 17:10 "any sort of blood". Another good reference is "The Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. IV, p. 86; p.192 & Tertullian, Apologetical Works, Minucius Felix, Octavius, p.33"

I would be happy to discuss this with you or anyone through email. :)

I passed over this thread a bunch of times, but since it kept getting moved to the top, I figured I'd peek in and see what it was all about. Lol every time I passed it by earlier, I was like "What the hell is Coconut Blood 4?" It's like part 4 of a really bad movie on the Sci Fi channel.
