:) Yesterday i took about a half a cup of flax seed with 1/4 cup of broccoli tips and chopped califlower put it all in my blender and grinded it up poured in about 1/4 cup of olive oil and blended it up seasoned it and put it on a pan and placed it in my convection oven and turn it on low.
The oven goes turns as it bakes and left it for about 5 hours checking it to make sure the temp. is not too high and it turn out great. Crispy and i layered it with sliced avocado and hot peppers with which ever sauce you choose to use and i loved it.

Thanks Ann, that sounds yummy! How do you like using the convection oven? Sounds like a great idea. Does it dehydrate also?

:) It's an old one, big and square, it has a light and when you turn it on it revolves in a circular motion while it cookes. I use it as a dehydrator because it blows warm air and i put it on low.
Iloveitraw, what is your recipe for flaxseed crust?
I would love to make potpies with it.
Thanks :p

1 cup flaxseeds 1 1/2 cup water (soak overnight)
Whatever amount you desire of the following
sea salt
garlic
bell pepper
onion
lemon juice
olive oil
jalepeno
parsley or cilantro
mix in vitamix , place on dehydrator for 2-4 hours (I heat on 100)
flip and heat for 1-2 hours or to desired.
Hmmm feel me in on the pot pie recipe and supply a picture too if you can.
Hope this helps!

Thank you sooooo very much for the crust recipe, you have made my life much easier as it will make fixing my husband's lunch quicker.

I grind my flax and add sesame seeds if I want the seeded look.
My favourites are lemon or onion but I also like carrot and ginger. I often just use what I want to use up.
Today I am making crackers from squash. Anyone recomend a good flavour to add to it.

I went to a healthfood store yesterday and got some raw flax crackers. They were golden flax seeds that were soaked and dehydrated, with onion and garlic thrown in. They were REALLY good! I will probably have to buy a dehydrator now, to make these! has anyone made these? I'm going to start searching for a recipe.

Hi Lay Lay,
Are you able to grind the seeds in Vitamix after they have been soaked? I tried that but only half of them gets grounded and not very finely; very different if you were to grind them dry.

Hi Ellen,
I think I know which ones you are referring to, as I tried them from Whole Foods. They are just absolutely delicious and they are part of the reasons that got me into raw foods. The jalepeno flavor is also soooooo good. My goal is to make flax crackers just like them! :D
