I just dined at a fabulous Raw food establishment on Toronto called LIVE it's
located on Dupont @Spadina....We chose the Raw food sampler that was so good....after eating the sampler with ordered bigger sizes of the pizza and tostado....as soon as I return home I will find recipes to replicate those dishes.....the owner Jennifer was super nice.....but what I found to be interesting is that on her dessert menu was Alissa
s strawberry crepe...and what was more ironic was that I had a big ole banana fuit leather in my purse,lol....I will be dining there tomorrow as well...we also dined at Fressen on queen st west....they had one raw option (other than salads...I brought my own dressing) it was a mushroom and zucchini lasagna that was very good..so all in all staying raw on vacation in Toronto wasn't so hard...

Iloverawfoods,
According to your post, you said you're around Stone Mountain, so where is this Raw restaurant that you know of. I think there's one in downtown Atlanta. Are there others that you know about? I live in eastern metro Atlanta.

BTW, congrats on your 60 days - fantastic job. Sounds like your husband is supporting your Raw lifestyle. Good for you guys.

Thanks,
Scott

I was looking them up the other day. I saw 3 in atlanta 2 were semi raw. The one I think we are going to try is in Chatanooga. I am going to have to look them up again because I have forgotten where they are and what they are called. The only raw/semi that I have tried is at the Life Grocery Cafe in behind the Big Chicken across from Harry's. I live an hour (on a very traffic free day) from downtown. Believe it or not I'm that far away and I am considered Metro Atlanta too, LOL!

Thank you!

By the way I do know of a potluck, I think its on Sundays at the Living Foods Institute its in the afternoon. I never get to go because I have church at that time, but once a month they have a graduation there and I go sometimes to that and its a feast.

Oh Scott I forgot to mention, The Dekalb Farmers Market is out of this world and super cheap. The first time I went in there I cried. (ok, maybe a little silly, but it was so amazing the variety and the affordable).

I live in Toronto and practically live at "LIVE" . Jennifer the owner has done a spectacular job...the food is out of this world. The staff give the best hugs...I highly recommend it. If you are with family or friends that are not into raw 2 doors down she has a take away bar with organic/wild salmon sandwiches and organic meats, so there is something for everyone.

Iloverawfoods,
Thanks so much for the info. Going to give these places a call. Does the Dekalb market have alot of organic. I only buy organic - usually at Earthfare in Athens and some farmers markets sometimes, but the selection is so limited at the farmers markets I use. Sometimes I go to Whole Foods in Sandy Springs I believe, but that's pretty far. There's a new Whole Foods opening in Duluth in Sept. It's going to be like 60,000+ sq. ft. for whatever that's worth. Thanks for the info. - making some phone calls today.
Oh yeah - a couple months ago, I wouldn't have had a clue what you meant about crying when seeing all of that beautiful produce, but I do now. I don't know if a dude should admit that in public though.
You're inspiring alot of folks here I believe.

The Dekalb Farmers Market has almost as much organic food as they do nonorganic. It is sooooooooooooo awesome. You got to check it out.

I live in Gwinnett County and I now about that whole foods opening. They are also opening (very shortly) a Fresh Market-in Suwanee. I am excited things are opening up outside of the city.
Also I took a 9 week raw foods course with Jackie and Gideon-they are so great. Look at sproutrawfoods to find out about them.

Lay-lay I emailed you privately.

I didn't get your email. Did you email me at: iloverawfoods@bellsouth.net ?

Look forward to your email.

Yes Scott we so need some more good eating places. If I wasn't so wrapped up in my current career I would so go for it.

Hey I think I met Jackie and Gideon a few years ago. Don't they do alot of catering and private sessions?

Iloverawfoods,
That's exactly what I told my Mama yesterday, but I have my own business that I am absolutely 100% committed to and I love the challenges every day. But if I wanted to start a business that would be it - maybe we can inspire some entrepreneurial type out there, so at least we can enjoy someone else making us some wonderful food. (And cleaning up afterwards).

Scott....for real LOL! I have thought about uncooking something up, but just can't find the time. Maybe if I spent less time on rawfoodtalk, LOL, never going to happen!
