Here's the problem: I think I'm sensitive to raw chocolate - the main "yummy" factor in my protein smoothies - and I've read enough now to think that raw chocolate is probably not so good for me anyway.

Here's what I need: I want a smoothie recipe that is dessert-like (I add hemp protein powder and dates). I don't do green smoothies but drink lots of green juice. So, please no green smoothie combos! Do you use carob? Help! I am sad to be losing a daily treat so please gimme some yummy suggestions for what I might try.

Carob is pretty good actually. Can you have that? If so, replace it in whatever you need chocolate. Oh and what exactly is "raw chocolate"? Does it have carob, cacao or cocoa?

Almond milk, 1 banana, a cup or so of frozen strawberries, about a 1/4 cup of walnuts. Delish!! Try to make sure that everything is organic, especially the almonds in the milk, they make a huge difference! If you want it ice cream-like, freeze the banana too and use the plunger on your vitamix to help it along. If you decide to add hemp seeds, I would add a bit of aguave to sweeten it up. Have fun!

Also you can make a great variety of nut milks, not just almond. The book RawFoodReal World ahs a great smoothie/drink section.

Have a look at this thread. The strawberry one can omit the berries and add chocolate or carob and the mudslide is great with chocolate or carob too. :p
