Am I the only one? Before going all raw, I had fasted for 14 days. I broke my fast over 3 days or so on apple & then went 100% raw.
I don't really crave any fruits. When I do eat fruits, I mainly eat them out of boredom or I'm too lazy to chop up some greens. The only fruit that is somewhat appealing to me are bananas. Banana has always been a fav. fruit of mine & citrusy fruits like oranges, but now...I don't really want ANY fruit at all!
I'm really content w/ eating my stuffed lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic, red & green peppers? Is this weird at all? Oh, eatting raw corn from the cob is tasty, too.

I envy you. I still have to tell myself to eat my greens.

I find that the only way that I can really get my greens is using the version that Boutenko suggests by mixing an entire head of greens with fruit (like bananas and mango)

You could go in phases of not craving a certain food and that's perfectly normal! Personally this happens to me with greens, and not fruits. When greens aren't available then i will just eat fruit until they are. However, make sure you're getting enough calories by eating that way.

If that's what your body is calling for right now, go with it. My body sometimes craves fruits and sometimes I really crave greens or fats. Just follow your body.

Hi! thanks everyone for the responses, & please don't envy me, hehe. It's def. a comfort to know I'll go in phases of craving things. May I not crave the wrong things though!
I did buy two apples today from the grocers. One for an afternoon snack & dinner. :D
Yes. right on point w/ the concern about calories. I was just about to make a new topic about that. I'm such a newbie. :( The thing is when I do eat, I eat the veggies stuffed in 2 nori sheets, & that's basically my whole meal. The max is that meal 3x.
I do karate every other day & run for the rest of the days. When I breathe, I always feel this cold air going through my throat. It's not very comfortable. Also, I get cold very easy. It's summer here, & I'm wearing a sweater! I'm kind of concerened, & don't want to go into starving mode unintentionally. I don't really want to eat nuts to up my fats either. I'd rather eat some fruits like coconut to up my fats rather than nuts.
Any insights would be awesome! Thanks for all the support!!! :o

I go through spells, but I am alot like you, although greens make up a large percentage of my diet most of the time. Lately I have been eating alot more fruit. Right now your body must be needing things in those greens and bananas and citrus. Enjoy it! Next week or even tommorow it may want something completly different. Today I had a salad for breakfast and then fruit for lunch, go figure!
Coconuts are super and so is the milk! I don't worry so much on calories and fat. I just eat until I am satisfied so long as it is raw.

Trust me, most of the raw foodists of the world envy you!
I like greens but I must admit I still find it 'easier' to pick up a piece of fruit than a piece of greenery. Eating greens is a discipline for most of us, and a struggle for some. Greens are mineral-rich and, provided they've been grown on decent, 'alive' organic soil, quite high in protein so you'll be doing your brain a favour as well as the rest of your body. I find that rocquette (AKA arugula) and radish greens both have a particularly potent effect on me, mentally - within just a few minutes of eating a good quantity of either of these greens, a profound feeling of tranquility sweeps over me - very pleasant. Neurochemistry and food are so much more interlinked than people realise, or accept.

whoa yes. I have been able to read very complex text(I'm in the sciences at school) & understand it one time through. Usually, I have to read the text AND pay close attention to a lecture in order to understand the material. Now, I find that I can understand things a lot easier in just one go. Maybe it's the veggies, hu? :D

I go through periods and am definitely craving more greens than fruit at the moment - I even start my day with a salad now ;) Before that it was a fruit platter. Don't know, just need something more savoury and refreshing. I usually prepare my salad early and let it sit in the fridge for some time before I eat it. Could also be the weather - it's quite hot here at the moment.

Don't worry if all you want right now is greens and veggies. Relax and listen to your body. You can't go wrong with raw. Honestly, one of the benefits of the raw lifestyle is that you can be free from all the mental calorie-counting and stuff that so plagues our SAD culture. Some days your body will crave 300 calories, sometimes 3000. Give your body what it craves. If you're craving spinach, then there must be something in the spinach that your body needs. If you're craving apples, then there must be something in the apples that your body needs. Right now I'm craving sweet bing cherries -- go figure. I have never bought them before, because they're so expensive, but today I saw them in the market and just had to buy them. Almost ate them on the way home!
You cannot eat to little or too much if you listen to your body. Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're satisfied, and eat what your body craves. People only get emaciated or obese by turning OFF those built-in signals.
happy crunching!
