Dear friends,
Should the first book I buy be "The Raw Foods Detox Diet"? Is it a good book? or would anyone recommend another book for someone new to raw? I would greatly appreciate any recommendations as I want to buy a book tomorrow.
Thanks so much. :)

It's a pretty good book - the major difference between it and Alissa's approach is that Natalia Rose advocates a very gradual transition. You take a quiz about your current lifestyle and modify your diet accordingly, then gradually make progress thru the levels - which can be a more gentle approach than diving into 100%. I guess it depends on your personality & goals!

I have both books and recommend Alissa's book if you can only buy one.

I have many, many books and if I had to be on survivor and could only take one book it would be.....(well there is this one thats not in circulation so that won't help you any so I won't mention it) .....Alissa's Book.

I think the best bet is Allisa's book/DVD combo. She really gives a ton of info-great pics & the DVD really helps you understand how to prepare RAW... :)

naw, that wouldn't be anywhere near the top on my list.
In addition to Alissa's which everyone has already recommended, I would say Raw Food Real World, Living Cuisine by Renee Loux Underkoffler, and if you're a gourmet Charlie Trotter and Roxanne Klein's Raw. Also on the list but a little further down for me would be Rawsome by Brigitte Mars, Gabriel Cousens Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine.
And if Rawpriestess' Brownies are an indication of her recipes, I would say that when Rawpriestess' book comes out that would be at the top of the list, along with Rawkinlocs' (Queen of the Cinnabon) upcoming cookbook. :)
