Hello!

I am new to the raw thing and have been checking out various websites and journals to gain more of an insight.

My real name is Lindsay, I am 29, live in Manchester, UK, am married with a 15 year old stepson, work full time in Human Resources and go to college part time so I am a busy lady! My hobbies include shopping, going to the gym, running and yoga.

I lost 3 stone last year through Weight Watchers and acquired a bingeing habit. I am terrified of putting the weight back on plus I still have one more stone to lose. I read one of Jason Vale's books a couple of weeks ago and loved the idea behind juicing, then my friend Summer started documenting her raw food diaries on LJ and it was like a light bulb went on in my head!

I am currently on my 13th day of eating 100% raw with only two "blips" and I am feeling more energised, my allergies are subsiding and I have lost 7lb. I am really into it and boring my husband and friends because it's all I seem to talk about!

Today I am a bit disenchanted with raw because I stupidly ate an entire pineapple last night at 8:30pm and consequently I have been up since 5am with sickness and diarrhea (sp?). Plus I have had cravings for all sorts today so have decided to give into them and go back to being raw tomorrow.

I look forward to hopefully making some friends on here. :)

Hi Lindsay...hope you enjoy this board as much as I do. Sounds like you're doing great...way to go.

Just slightly off topic... I lived for nearly a year in Chorley (near Preston) England. I loved it. I met my husband there. I never did get to Manchester, can you believe that?... well except to go to the airport :) We live near Toronto, Canada now though (where I was born).

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome!

Shan - if you ever come back over, you must visit Manchester - the city has had a huge regeneration and is amazing!

Denise - it's nice to meet you too - maybe we can share newbie tips!

Sport - you are so kind thank you! I would really appreciate some links - I have Shazzie's Detox Delights so I have some recipes to go on. Can you access my email from this board or shall I post my address?

Congratulations on being raw for 13 days..I was wondering what a stone was. One of my hobbies is shopping also. I do a lot of shopping online and on T.V.- You are young and it is good that you jugle all of these things now but also by being raw you will never grow old. I wish you much success. If you fall of the horse, get back on it.
