For the last few days I've been dealing with uncomfortable bowel movements. Today I was very sick, the most uncomfortable I've ever been in that type of situation. It's not quite diarrhea but it's not formed cohesively.
I'm assuming that this is due to eating raw. My body is probably cleaning itself up. My issue is that I don't seem to eliminate as much as I did when I was eating cooked, but when I do it's very uncomfortable. I'm considering taking some charcol tablets, but I don't know if I should interfere with what's going on in my body. I would think that charcol would help the cleansing process, but I also know that charcol can stop one from going to the bathroom for a while.
Should I just let my digestion do what it pleases or should I interfere?

I have no advice, except to watch what you are eating and how various foods may affect you. Try to eliminate your regular foods one at a time and see if it gets better. What you are describing is one of the detox symptoms I get, after a few days raw, that generally makes me throw in the towel and eat a bowl of rice.
I hope you find relief soon!

It's very interesting that you feel this way too when eating raw. I hope somebody can explain why I'm not going that much, but experiencing diarrhea-like symptoms.

This will go away after your major detox is over. Your body just needs to adjust to getting that much water in your foods. I had that for a week during my main detox and now I'm totally fine. I have noticed that I will get it after starting back with fruits and veggies after fasting. It is just an adjustment period, try not to take anything, you don't want to interfere with this cleansing process. Soon, your stools will be pretty normal again, although they will never be quite as hard as they would when you were cooked unless you eat alot of nuts.

It's good to know that you've gone through, and past this. I've been completely raw for 21 days now, and it's been this way the whole time. I'm just hoping I can get my first major detox over and one with before my next semester starts!
I have had my gallbladder removed, and I've been diagnosed with "IBS" (which is essentially what people are labled with when modern medicine can't figure it out). I'll probably be dealing with this for a bit longer then.

Yeah, detox time varies for each person depending on how old you are and how long you've been eating cooked toxins and how well you eliminated toxins during that time so it could take longer than expected for many people. You'll get through it though, just keep going! You're doing awesome.

Thanks Lissollama.
On an unrelated note, I had posted that this was my 21st day. It's actually my 22nd! I didn't even know! It's great that I'm not counting the days so accurately anymore, it must mean that I'm more comfortable with this now. It was a nice surprise for me to figure that out.lol

Awesome! And happy birthday! I decided from the beginning not to count days obsessively. I know how many days I've been raw but I just don't think about it or count. It is marked on my callendar and I could check when I feel like it.

Hi Amber :)
I don't have any suggestions as I haven't been 100% raw for even one day yet... However I have had my gallbladder removed as well and have been under doctor's care for 2 YEARS to see what is causing my intestinal "distress".
The idea to cut out various items to see if one might be affecting you is a great idea. Hopefully you get to feeling better soon! HUGS!

Alrighty, so here's what a lot of those doctors won't tell you after they remove ONE OF YOUR BODY PARTS! Most people experience horrible stomach problems for AT LEAST one year. I'm working on 5 years right now. I was sick before, but I am most definitely sick now. The gallbladder is a key-player in digestion, there's no getting around that. I'm hoping that raw and an herbal cleanse will get me to normal. I haven't experienced a day without some form of stomach discomfort in my entire concious life. The doctors certainly didn't help.
Coriander74, I don't know if you've tried hemp powder, but it used to help me. Prunes also greatly help. The more condensed fiber I ate the better I did...not so now, but it might do something for you.
Sorry, had to rant.lol

Hemp powder hmm? I'm sure I'll get some giggles about that from my family LOL But I'm at the point where I'll try almost anything
The GI doc I've seen has put me on every single kind of medication possible, I'm sure you know how that goes. I really hope that you get to feeling better with the herbal cleanse and raw. There's no reason you should be in pain and sick. What kind of herbal cleanse are you going to do?

I've been looking at DrNatura. (www.drnatura.com) A lot of people on this forum highly recommended it. It's also a lot more affordable then a lot of other cleanses; it's 75 dollars for a month's supply. I've looked over the ingredients and recognize everything. It's my plan to try it for the month of August.

OK :P Now here I can help.
I have recently started (AGAIN) another round of Colonix, the one from Dr. Natura. I kept stopping and starting because of various reasons, this last time it's because I was moving and didn't feel like running to the potty every 10 minutes :o
It does have a laxative effect for awhile, at least it did on me, to where I was having to dash off -- but it did slow down and I was going 2 or 3 times a day after meals. I didn't see anything funky like the site says but then again I wasn't on it long enough. The tea is lovely to drink at night... the fiber drink isn't wonderful but I would put half a banana in it to kill the "fiber taste".
I did feel mentally and physically like I was doing something really good for my body and I think it really could help.

I REALLY don't want to see any living entities or "ropes" so I prefer the regular laxative effect.lol I assume with any cleanse you're going to have to deal with that, and I'm emotionally prepared...I think....
