Does anyone have good ideas for cherries or sour cherries. We have one sweet and one sour cherry tree and they are loaded with cherries. I don't have a dehydrator. I will freeze many of them.
Mostly I am trying to keep my kids from climbing up and sitting there all day eating them until the literally get sick!
I am fairly new to raw and need some fresh ideas. Thanks!

There's cherry tart in Raw Food Real World that looks AMAZING!!!
They put the cherries in the dehydrator to soften, then put on the cake. It looks gorgeous.
I don't have the recipe in front of me, but you could try a nut crust, with a cashew cream inside, then layer on the softened cherries. Yummy!
And what about using in smoothies? That would be so good! Enjoy!

I don't have any ideas for you, but when I bought a bunch of cherries (2 1/2 lbs cost me $15! and NOT organic! ) they started going bad before I could finish them, so i cut them in halves, removed the pits and froze them. I just throw a handful of them into my smoothies. No worries about thawing, or getting the pits out first!

Cherry Ice Cream? No recipe, jsut a thought. The raw food real world recipe is delic, will post when I have time. Cherry Pie? You could use the raw food real world recipe for the filling and just make a crust. I'm jealous, I love cherries, ate 3/4 of a pound when I was gettin sick the other day, but they're sooo expensive. Good luck :)

Oh, the cherry ice cream is a good idea!!! Probably make the plain banana ice cream with lots of cherries added. Or you could do cherry cordial. Make cherry ice cream, then fold in chunks of cherries and cocoa nibs. OH MY GOD. I JUST HAD MY FIRST RAW INVENTION!!!! I can be part off the club now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
