Hi Alissa! I just wanted to check in with you to make sure that nothing we write on this site would become part of any book unless we submitted it to you. (I am not personally interested in being included but I do hope you're getting many wonderful responses to your recent query!)

My assumption is that we have the rights to everything we write in our posts and journals, but I just thought I would check. I'm a writer professionally and am a bit more tuned into these issues because of that. My journal material sometimes works its way into my articles and books and I want to make sure it's okay to continue journaling on this site (which I love by the way, what a vibrant community! I use your fabulous recipes every week too.)

Best,
Melissa

Thank you for posting this question Melissa. I am curious as well. I am assuming that we would still own what we post, seeing as we did not sign an agreement, (electronic or otherwise) waiving those rights.

This is especially important in my case, because some of what I write IS part of my company's work, and I don't want to jepordize that.

I will await Alissa's answer.

Of course i would not use anything that anyone writes on these boards. That is why i asked people to contact me personally and send their stories, pictures and stats to me separately if they wish to be in it.
There will also be a waver to sign for the people in the book.
Best,
Alissa

Thank you Alissa for answering so quickly! I figured that was the answer, but Melissa's post did make me ponder!
