I am on my 6th day of eating after 18 days of water fast, I feel
great, eating only fresh raw food and loving it like nothing before! I
am trying to eat little though, because even with 100% raw and fresh I
feel that I tend to overeat and feel not to great. I have posted
pictures of me in my blog, and a comparison with the old cooked me in
2002 and 55 pounds ago! I have just received a lot of dried food as a
gift for my birthday, and I don't know what to do with it now, LOL.
Oh, my address is http://www.missvanilla.blogspot.com
Congratulations!
by the way, you're cute. ;)
Great job! I'm a hetero married woman, but can I say I think you're cute too :P

Hi Fragola,
Before you started your water fast, were you all raw? Or very high raw? What made you know this was the time you needed to do a water fast?
You look fantastic and I know you're feeling wonderful. Congratulations for having the will power to do what your body needed!
I'm sure I've probably just missed your posts, so sorry if you're repeating what you already posted.

I'm curious how you did on the water fast. I only got through 2 days of a 5 day stint I was going for. The first day I didn't work and I was fine. The 2nd day I had to work and I thought I was going to pass out after a couple hours of arriving. I ended up breaking it by eating a pear before I drove home.

Hi Helen,
before my water fast i was high raw, I had periods of 100% raw but then I was always having something cooked, like steamed veggies or beans, or sometimes bread. I had also strong cravings sometimes for starchy foods and coffee. In general I was 80% raw vegan and organic anyway.
I was feeling the need to cleanse emotionally, I don't really know what made me decide to go on a water fast. I think I felt the need to find a new stronger me, to increase my willpower, to feel cleaner. I don't know if this make sense. I also apologize for my bad english!
I wanted to find a way to be connected with the needs of my body, and I wish I had the capacity to meditate more.
I felt so strong all the time about my decision to fast, and that is incredible to me because I have never had a strong willpower.
I am very happy now, because hopefully this fast have changed my relationship with food. I will try hard to make this feeling a lasting result.

I did try to water fast many times before. I managed to stay 5 days on a water fast, but I did a 2 weeks juice fast in 2004 (somewhere reported on this forum
 ).
I don't really know what changed in my mind this time, but what worked for me was to take it day by day. I felt pretty good almost all the time, I had a lot of energy the first week, but then at the 8th day I had a cold, and bronchitis with sore throat and cough that lasted 3 days. I released tons of mucus (sorry to be so descriptive), then I started to feel okay again.
I think that I felt so strong because I have been high raw the past 3 years, and my body maybe didn't have to go through a massive detox, except the cold. Just wondering, all the people I met told me that I didn't look like I was fasting at all!

Hi Fragola,
Thanks for sharing. I need to read the files on water fasting on Nora's board. I know doing a water fast is something that I shouldn't take lightly and I need to really understand it before I attempt a water fast, longer than the 1 day fasts that I do.

There is no English, so I can't figure out which pictures are before and which after the fast. Are the first ones after the fast?

Well, there is a picture of me with a VERY large face!! That was back in 2002 when I was cooked. All the others are after the fast.
Other pictures of me before the fast (april and may 2006) and high raw are at this pages:

Maybe the difference is not so noticeable but I have lost 15 lbs since then!
