Hi, I'm excited to find this site, and plan to order Alissa's book. I'm so proud that I ate a raw breakfast and lunch today...a very different experience. Do you advise a slow transition to raw foods (from a pretty healthy but cooked food diet with meats and dairy)? How long to transition? Or do you just jump in and stop all cooked foods at once?

I was amazed that I felt satisfied with fruit for breakfast and green salad for lunch, considering that I had been following more typical diet recommendations to eat 10-20 g. animal protein with each meal. I felt tingly and energized after my raw meals! But by mid-afternoon, I was bone-tired (ate a hand-full of cherries) and didn't feel perkier for a few hours. I know that this is part of the adjustment. I found myself to be less hungry and being very "present" with my food, eating slowly.

Thanks for listening, and any replies to transitioning would be appreciated!

Transitioning is a very individual thing. some can do well with a bit of cooked left in their diets, while others can't even have a bite (like me :) ) I have to be 100% raw and I HAD to go cold turkey. Having any cooked in your diet could keep those cravings alive, if you have any.
