Yesterday, I was asked by our local sandwich shop worker...in our mall...(which I always used to have a sandwich with soup every Saturday!) if I was on a diet of something. LOL :D I have been ordering a salad...no dressing, every Saturday for months now.
I told her about eating raw...more a lifestyle than a "diet". I told her all the perks I was feeling and how much better I felt.
Her finally question was, "So, how's it working for you?" So, I replied with what she wanted to know, "I've lost 25 pounds so far." She was amazed. Said I looked great...and keep it up...it seems to be working. :p
Have you had one of these experiences? It seems to be happening a lot to me lately. Where someone wants to know why I'm eating raw...what it is...and after telling them all the great things changing inside me...they still only want to know one thing....How much weight have you lost? :p

Yes, LOL! And that OK, with me! Most people relate any health avenue to a way to lose weight and thats ok. I just kindly tell them well, I lost ???, and the health benefits have been wonderful. Some people ask what health benefits and I explain, but most do not. Its food for thought for them and maybe by just mentioning raw food maybe they will try more themselves or go home and look it up and discover the lifestyles entire splendor and make changes for themselves for weight loss, health, etc.......I doesn't matter how you come to be on this journey, but that you choose to take a journey.

That is so true! :D Actually, when I was done sharing, she said she had never heard of eating just raw foods. So, I was the first to share the idea with her. :o So, I guess it is good to be able to share about it with others huh!?!?! Thanks for the new perspective! Good stuff! ;)

I've noticed after going through all the explanations and such, people tend to want to focus on the down-side and say things like "I will bet it's really hard to stay that way - since nobody else eats like that"...and usually I nod in agreement and want to kick myself later.

Next time I will definately take the opportunity to be positive in my answers and say that it's not hard at all, the food tastes 100 times better and what is most important is the way it makes me feel - wonderful.

It's almost like folks want to bring me down because they pity my way or eating or something. As if everyone, everywhere eats the same exact way - not!
