I haven't done much with flax seeds, but I saw where somewhere else, someone said they like to take them on trips for snacking on. So I bought some, they're the golden variety. I just tried some, and they're very tasty (a little small for finger food, though!) but they taste like roasted nuts. I assumed they'd be raw, since who would roast flax seeds? Is this just what they taste like?

To get the nutrional benefits of flaxseeds they need to be ground up or chewed very very good! As far as I know flax seeds are raw. Anyone else know for sure. ?? Flax seeds make such GREAT crackers in the dehydrator.

smiles!! :)
