I have noticed since going raw that my muscles have really decreased in size and that I have very little stamina. I run 4 times a week and I'm just drained physically afterwards...my muscles are sooooo sore and burn.

However, my bloodwork came back fantastically so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a lot of muscles decrease since going raw?

Don't get me wrong, I love raw and feel great, just drained. I eat about 80 carbs, 10 protein, 10 fat.

I have also lost a lot of body fat since going raw. Didn't know if this would factor in to the muscle fatigue.

Thanks for thoughts!

Heather

A couple of things to note when reading this page. The page has not been updated in a year. He had been a raw foodie for 2.5 years. He was a former bodybuilder before raw. He is not a very large person to begin with. That being said he accomplished quite a bit and more than other men 47 years old.

You can also try http://www.thegardendiet.com Storm lifts quite a bit.

Why do you count fat, carbs and such?

Secret Heart, I have read a lot of negative feedback from people who had bad experiences on 8/11 or whatever it's called, some with very serious problems in the longer term. There used to be a major thread on rawfood.com's forum that discussed it at length, someone on here pointed me toward it, and it was an eye opener. I think there's still a few newer threads there on the subject of 8-11 though I haven't checked them out.

I'm not sure it's a balanced and health promoting plan, so maybe consider tyring to keep moving toward something that will bring you much health. With what you're experiencing short term, I would be concerned with the long term.

Here's a general link to the forum if you want to see if there's any info there to help

What your going through is perfectly normal, your body is using it's energy to clean itself out, your getting rid of all the old fat, waste and getting rid of your retained water and that's why your tired and losing the appearance of wieght.

You will go through this regardless of what programme you were on, so don't let anyone tell you what your doing is wrong, if your enjoying it then go for it.

I've learnt to see this as a vital part of the cleansing process and celebrate these changes.

Keep active and stay happy.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm not on a plan per se, it's just how my food seems to break down...I was just using it as a brief breakdown...

I like the cleaning out theory...makes me feel better:>

Have a rawsome day!
