Hey everyone, need some insight here. I have been 10 month Raw and now in the last two weeks I am experiencing some itching and discharge (sorry :o the girls know where..) and skin is itchy too. This morning my eyes and scalp are itchy. I also experiencing some Gas after none for quite some time.

Only change in diet is adding fruit, added berries and some banana's to my apples and grapefruit. Reduced my nuts.

So can you develope Candida AFTER starting Raw. Never had it in the past that I am aware of. Or maybe it it detox from adding the cleansing fruit to the diet ?

Any advice ? cut out fruit..? do only greens for awhile ?

I would certainly think you could develop candida on raw. I had problems with sugar on raw about a year ago because I was eating huge quantities of dried fruit. I got to where fruit bloated me and I got gas all the time and couldn't digest properly. I had my live blood analysis done and I didn't have yeast, but I had parasites. I was told to go off sugar for a while. I went off for three months, then started eating it again. About five months after reintroducing fruit, my live blood analysis was done again and I had no parasites and still no yeast. My digestion is so much better now, though I do have to be careful not to overdo nuts and I try to stay away from dried fruit except for special occasions.

Hi Rawfigure, thanks for posting this subject. I assume it is common knowledge that antibiotics destroy the 'good bacteria' in our gut, and yeast overgrowth can occur from that. Probiotics kill yeast, they keep it in check, so taking some acidophilus strains is a good idea.

Brianna, thank you for your information about parasites and the results of your live blood analysis. This is very helpful to me and I imagine many others.

QUESTION: If you are a raw foodist & you're told to go "off sugar", what are you eating??

It has to be on a daily basis so I was wondering what you were eating when dealing with this.

Going "off sugar" can look lots of ways depending on how serious one is, and how severe the situation... but it could look like

a big greens juice in the morning, blended grapefruit with some stevia and vitamineral green, salads galore, any raw entrees one would like such as lasagna, zucchini pasta, avocado/tomato salads, freshly blended coconut cream, cacao shakes, chopped veggies for a snack (celery, carrots, red pepper, tomato, radishes), lucious seaweed salads with grated carrots and cucumbers, nori rolls, cauliflower mashed potatoes and gravy, warm green soups right out of the vitamix

with all those options, how do you even have time to THINK about missing fruit. yum :)
