View Full Version : White Blood Cells and lower with Raw question

Here's a thought...just running it by anyone who might know if this is totally out in left field:

I have read that eating cooked food provokes an immune response by the body to assemble leukocytes or some sort of white blood cell reaction to the cooked food...this is true yes?

Now, I recently had my blood tested for everything just to see how I was doing with raw and the results were fantastic! The only thing my doctor said that was different or atypical was that my WBC (white blood cell) count was rather low...I checked and it is 2.9...down from 3.7 when I was cooked vegan.

My question is: Do you think that my WBC is lower because my body hasn't been exposed to nearly as much cooked food in the past 14 months? I'd love some thoughts because it might therefore not be a bad thing to have one's WBC a little low? If the body doesn't have to "defend" itself agains cooked food etc wouldn't it seem plausible to have a lower count?

Thanks for any input/interpretations you might have!

Have a rawsome evening,

Heather

Very interesting question! I have a naturally low white blood count my whole life. It did not change after going vegan. However, i didn't get sick as easy once vegan. The higher I go raw the less ailments I have...but I haven't had a count done to know if it is lower or not. At the rate I am transitioning, I will most likely be 100% in a few months and wonder how I do over the winter when all the viruses are going around. Pre-vegan I caught everything! Post vegan I am healthier....post raw, time will tell. Even if my white blood cell counts fall, does it really matter if I don't get sick like I used to?

Now that's interesting because my WBC is low also. I'm curious to see where this takes us.

Agreed about seeing what happens. My doc wants me to ger retested in about 6 months..which is fine. I'm curious.
I too have not been sick with a bona fide cold or worse since going vegan let alone raw!

I'd say that you're normal and okay. There is (or was) a comercial out there about how the body makes "such and such amount" of white blood cells after eating. I think it's for some kind of yogurt that has probiotics in it. The thing is, that they don't tell you that it's only after eating cooked food that it happens.

The following, taken from: http://www.living-foods.com/articles/cooked.html

"Cooking renders food toxic! The toxicity of the deranged debris of cooking is confirmed by the doubling and tripling of white blood cells after eating a cooked food meal. The white blood cells are the first line of defense and are, collectively, popularly called "the immune system."

David Wolfe talked about this on one of his talks... said if you want to see what happens eat a big cooked meal the night before.. your tests would then likely be 'normal'. Normal is based on what's espected in our society, not optimal health.

Make sense?
