Ice cream cake?

My husband would like to have an ice cream cake for Father's Day. Any ideas on what to do for a raw ice cream cake? Have any of you made anything like this?

While I am sure there are dozens of recipes, I would say make a crust with nuts, perhaps some oats or something granola-y. Then make banana ice cream with whatever flavors and some fudge sauce for the top.

Last night I added cherries to my banana ice cream. It was so delicious!

I just did a reply to a dessert request earlier - it is for a pie. However if you double or trible the crust and use a springform cake pan w/o a hole you can layer the ingrdients into a cake shape then freeze.

I make the pie often and the mousse freezes BEAUTIFULLY! Just let it sit out for about 10-15 min to soften a bit!

Thanks, if I have time I just might try that. It sounds good. I have Renee's book but haven't tried anything out of it yet.
