Oh NO! FrankenPlum Trees almost ready for approval! Time to speak out!

TAKE ACTION: USDA CLOSE TO APPROVING GENETICALLY ENGINEERED PLUMS
The United Sates Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting public comments regarding the commercial approval of a genetically engineered plum, known as "C5." The approval of C5 would be the first widely released genetically engineered (GE) tree in the United States. Approval of C5 will also pave the way for more GE tree and fruit varieties, including peaches, cherries, and apricots. GE tree pollen can drift for several miles, leading to contamination of neighboring organic crops and indigenous trees. The USDA is currently accepting public comments on this issue.

Hey, this is just one of many notices that I get from Organic Consumers Assn. via email!

Some of the stuff they send is just so...gosh, I'm at a loss for words to describe how OUTLANDISH it is...I mean, I mistakenly thought that the govt, despite all its waste and incomprehensible mismanagement of affairs was still on the side of the American people.

Boy, was I WRONG!

It's a real let-down to realize how naive and - well, let's call it correctly, here - DUMB I've been about what goes on. And I'm "more involved" in my health than the majority of Americans. And I know practically NOTHING! Where does that leave the rest of the country?

Well, since the greens don't allow me to be depressed (I believe it's the alkalinity factor) my only option is to DO something, like sign these various petitions, etc that come my way.

Who knows, maybe if enough people let their intentions be known, something positive will be done for WE THE PEOPLE.
