View Full Version : Working out during a cleanse OK?

I am about to do a cleanse and wanted to know if I should let my body rest during this time or if I can re-start my gym routine?

Cleansing is usually a time to let your body heal. If you feel you need to workout, I would do a very light routine if any at all.

I think it depends on if your doing a the cleanse with juice or you are going with nothing but water. I did a 7 day water cleanse awhile back and honestly, I need every second of rest I could get. After the fast, I slowly introduced food again, and felt fantastic after. I feel that if I did not rest as much as I did, I surely would have suffered from burnout, and not felt as fresh as I did. Its up to you, but truly take time to listen to your body. If you feel tired, but you just want to workout to lose that extra inch, tell yourself that you have plenty of time to lose that inch and choose the sleep, it will be soooo much better for you during this time of intense healing and detoxing. Hope that everything goes well with your cleanse. BTW, how long are you intending to go....
