:) Last night my husband and i went to K-mart to find a blender that i could use as a substitute until we could get a wheatgrass juicer.
We purchased a Kenmore 14-speed blender with 425 watts of power, it was on sale for $29.99.
This morning i cut quite a bit of wheat grass and put about a 4th of a cup of filtered water in the blender and put a hand full of wheatgrass in and it blender it up to a pulp and then i added more wheat grass to it and the same thing. It's not as strong as if i had a wheatgrass juicer but it works out well for us.

Will a Vitamix do that? I hadn't considered that I might be able to add wheatgrass to a green smoothie.

I need a new gasket on mine because it is leaking badly and this works.
I hope to get my vita-mixer jar working again in the future.

I did this with my Vitamix. I blended it with a little water (probably about the same amount Blessed used...just enough to blend it) and then I strained it (nutmilk/paint strainer bag) and poured into an ice tray and froze into cubes. I have cubes of wheatgrass juice in my freezer in a ziploc to add to smoothies. I know, as Blessed said, it's probably not AS potent as freshly juiced wheatgrass, but I'm sure we get some benefit from it! :)
Blessed, that's great to know that you were able to do this with a "standard" blender too! Again, I'm sure we all reap some benefits of it even if not ALL that may come with just juicing it with a juicer for wheatgrass. Thanks for sharing!

Victoria Boutenko uses this method to make wheatgrass juice, but also adds lemon with peel, which cuts the flavor of the wheatgrass, in case that is an issue, and she uses her Vita mix for that.

I am delighted to hear about this!
I actually buy packages with little cubes of frozen wheatgrass and barleygrass juice from my health food store, at a pretty stiff price. Now I can do this myself.
Goes to show that putting our heads together yields great ideas.
And yes, I always add them to my green smoothie.

Just be sure you cut the grass pretty fine. I didn't and it ended up tangled around the blade of my vita and almost burned out the motor. Yikes!

I put my 1/4 cup of water in and then i sprinkle in a little wheat grass and as it blends i add a little more each time and it cuts it up as it blends on high.
I think if you put too much in at a time it would be a problem. :)

Blessed:
About how long are the grass blades? Do you cut them first or just sprinkle in long ones? The ones I get from the Health Food Store are at least 8 inches long. I would think that they would wind around the blender blades.

They are maybe 4 inches long. I just put a few in to start then as they blend i add a little more. You can chop them if you like.
