I read in Alissa's book that only unhulled sesame seeds will sprout, but I have heard that they can sprout too with the shell on and the shell actually has most of the calcium. which is right  Thanks a bunch!!

I've never tried to sprout sesame seeds. You are correct in saying that unhulled have more calcium. We use unhulled and hulled interchangeably in recipes. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Why don't you try sprouting both kinds and see what happens? Let us know.

are the hulls safe to eat? I know when sprouting other things, you are supposed to rinse away the hulls because they have those enzyme inhibitors, etc. anyone know? Thanks for being patient with me lol

In sprouting them from the sproutman here at Zekiah valley, the hulls will wash away as they do with any seed.
