Hi,
I'm Shannon and this is my 2nd day raw. I've been raw before, for months at a time but I'm really going to try to stick with it this time.
Last year I was raw and then we had the hurricanes and lost electricity for a few weeks. I was not prepared for that, but plan to be this time.
So far so good,
Shannon

Welcome Welcome Welcome
Welcome Mrsalf97
Ive been raw for a couple months now and it is really awesome. I just finished Alissa's training courses so I plan to start teaching her classes in the MS, LA, AL areas. I went through the hurricane too and Ive been thinking alot about what to do this year incase of another one. The food I was eating after the storm last year was garbage with a big G! Ive got me a foodsaver now so I can store me some things this year. If I had to start eating cooked I would be sick for sure.
What area are you in?? Are there any good organic markets there? Im in Biloxi and we dont have squat for organic here. Yell if you need any support and again welcome aboard!
Jen

Welcome!
How are you going to prepare for hurricanes? When I was shopping a couple of days before Rita last summer, the can goods were almost gone and the produce section looked so full and untouched! I was thinking of dehydrating a bunch of things, then just stock up on the things will keep well.
Luckily we were without power for only 1 day.
I am planning to do the same, alot of dehydrating. I also have foodsaver to vacuum seal things. I will probably stock up some raw crunch bar type things too. Maybe we should start a thread on this and see what input we can get.

We should start a new thread, that's a great idea. I bought a foodsaver about 8 years ago and it's never been opened. Now I will have a reason to use it. :D

I'm close to Baton Rouge and there is a new Whole Foods. Please let me know when you will be teaching the classes. You should really offer them in Baton Rouge. ;) And maybe when can barter (I'm a massage therapist).

Hi Shannon
I will start a thread on what to stock for a hurricane. As for classes I was planning to hit Baton Rouge because it is a big area. I offer both levels of Alissa's classes but before I set up a class in another area I like to have atleast 3 people booked. Visit my webpage
http://www.rawteacher.com/jeanniemosley/ email me there and we can discuss barters. Look forward to seeing you in the hurricane thread.
Jeannie
