I did the 30 day challenge in May and was 100%. I felt great, lost about 5 pounds, etc. Then I started the June challenge and was great until about 2 days ago when my long runs stepped up. I craved salt and bought salty cooked pistachios. I ate a ton over the weekend (while everything else was still raw). Yesterday, I had a hard workout, and I was raw all day (ate guac and flax chips, fruit and some almond butter) but was weak and couldn't "stomach" green juice or even look at salad. The first time this has happened since going raw. I ended up with a terrible stomach ache, drank mineral water, and when I couldn't get to bed cause of feeling so yucky, I ate about 5 thin crunchy breadsticks (organic and vegan). So, my question is this: WHY IS THIS STUGGLE HAPPENING NOW? IS IT BECAUSE OF THE RUNNING/INCREASE IN ACTIVITY? HOW TO TRAIN AND STAY RAW?!?! HELP!

There are other ways to get the salt that you crave without resorting to eating SAD. Your body is now reacting to eating that stuff.
Go back to raw and add a little celtic sea salt to your food when you feel that you need it.
The important thing is to stay raw and all the rest will fall into place.

if you need salt, eat salty raw foods, celery, olives, etc. but now that you've eaten cooked food you are tired and sluggish, you will just need to eat more raw, whatever feels right to you.

There are quite a few threads about training and raw. Read thru this section and I think you will get the idea of how we do it..
Greens galore !! Green drinks, green smoothies, green salads.....and fruit, nuts and seeds !!!

Hi
I read in a runner's magazine a recipe for sport's drink: 500ml fruit juice (apple, orange etc), 500 ml water, 1 tsp salt. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I will soon, as I start adding mileage to my runs. Also, snacking on banana chips during the run might help as bananas are rich in potassium.
I am training for a marathon too and trying to figure out a way of eating that works for me and does not make me run for the washroom every km or so
