Hi everyone,

I'm trying to recreate SAD lime tortilla chips using Alissa's corn chip recipe -- so far I've failed twice. The first time I added lime oil (probably not raw anyhow) and the second time I added lime juice from 1 lime. The lime flavor is there but it leaves a bad/heavy aftertaste, worse with the oil but still there even with the juice.

I'm thinking of leaving the onion out of the recipe and just using corn, salt and lime juice. Anyone else out there ever tried this? I'm thinking maybe the combination of the onion with the lime may be the problem.

Maybe using grated lime zest instead of the juice would give a nicer flavor?

hi, make the chips first, then after they are dehydrated, brush with lime juice, and then dehydrate to crisp, I'd try that, that is how I do garlic flavor etc.
