Hi,

Where I am I cannot get hold ofraw cashews or macadamias (i can online but i'd rather not keep ordering things online!!) so I'm looking for alternatives to use. I've heard pine nuts may work and I really want to make the pizza in Alissa's book! In the pizza recipe to make the Creamy Cheddar Cheese, the ingredients are:

1/2 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup macadamias
1/2 cup sunflower seds
1 1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 lemon peeled
galrlic
and braggs

Ok, so as 1/2 cup pine nuts are already in the ingredients, would it be good to take out the1/2 cup of macas and then up the 1/2 cup pine nuts to 1 cup.... would this have any "cheesey" taste to it? Or maybe almonds replacing the 1//2 cup macas? Any help would be much appreciated!! I would really like to know if pine nuts or another nut could be used in place of any cheese recipe calling for macas or cashews.!!

Pine nuts would be a better substitute than almonds. If you can find raw brazil nuts, those would be even better.

That is great.. thanks! I'll go with brazil nuts then, maybe try the pine nuts another time I make the pizza.
