Hi,
I have purchased black tahini, and pulled up several recipes which use tahini, and I was wondering if I could use black. Does it taste the same as the regular kind? I tried a banana search but couldn't find anything on the taste. Thanks in advance for your input.

I have a question too about black tahini. Do black sesame seeds have more calcium then unhulled white sesame seeds?

I have eaten the black sesame tahini before, and I really liked it. It does taste different to me than the regular tahini. A bit sweeter, I guess, and maybe more "earthy". I love the bitterness of the regular tahini, but for those who aren't a fan, they might prefer the black tahini as it isn't as bitter.
One thing, though. Whatever you use your black tahini in, it will turn dark in color!

I think the black tahini has a bacon flavor, I love it on apples specifically, and I use it in chocolate recipes, because of the deep dark color, and earthy dark flavor.
