Hi Everyone,

My name is John, I'm a chiropractor and have been practicing a raw lifestyle for a mere 3 weeks now. I have eaten raw before but not to this extent. I'm eating just raw fruits and vegetables, no nuts or seeds.

I'm also into fitness and "bodybuilding", not competitive by any means and want to continue to progress in that area with my diet. I've been told time and time again that I won't be able to gain or even maintain muscle without taking protein supplements or amino acids. By cutting nuts and seeds I'm told I am eliminating any chance of getting these building blocks so I'm taking the quickest way to muscle suicide, but I am hoping that "they" are wrong. Time will tell I guess!

Thanks for having me and hope to hear from some of you soon!

Welcome John! You will find a lot of support here. My husband is currently trying to gain some weight on raw and has been 100% for the past three months. I myself am out to prove that you can gain muscle on raw, it is more than possible. Enjoy the journey, it sure is fun!

Hi,
I am in NJ too. I live in Brick now but I'm moving up north soon. Where are you located?
I work out a bit too and teach yoga and I find that the hemp protein is pretty good. I do eat nuts and seeds, however. Sometimes too much, I think..

Peace,
Doreen
