what is wrong with me....watermelon and onion??

Here is the gist..

I was dicing some onion while eating watermelon at the same time. I picked up a piece of watermelon after handling the onion and ate it. It tasted different.. I liked it. I realized it was the combination of onion and watermelon. So I cut some pieces of onion and ate it with watermelon. :confused:

Now I want to make some watermelon salsa with onion.... Am I weird? :(

LOL....I haven't tried that one and not sure if I am going to anytime soon. All I can say is enjoy!

It was a complete accident too. I just happened to have onion on my finger when I went to eat some watermelon. After realizing that it tasted good, I even thought to myself "what in the world am I doing..." as I cut a piece of watermelon and onion and then ate them together.

squeeze a lime on watermelon flesh, it's killer.

salsa is excellent with anything sweet, mango salsa, mango chutney, etc.

That's a new one, but I've seen recipes for things made with oranges and onions together.

Last weekend I made spicy watermelon-tomato gazpacho from Raw Food Real World and it was delicious!

In Israel they eat watermelon with feta cheese!

Thanks. I actually found a recipe for watermelon salsa so at least I know that it's not unheard of to eat that :D

lime and watermelon sounds awesome. I'll try that next time.

You search search 'watermelon salad' as just last week or the week before someone put up a recipe they said they loved. If I'm correct it combined watermelon and onion.
