Hi Everyone,
I am so excited. I finally found some people who are raw foodist here in Calgary. I've been researching this for months and finally I found some sort of a support group.
I was getting groceries in Planet Organic the other day when I noticed that they were offering Raw Food "cooking" classes, and also a Raw food course starting this week! I signed on immediately, and also signed my friend on!

I was also giving thought to taking a few weeks vacation to go to Vancouver Island and visit my family! I decided not to.... I always take time to visit. This time I'm going to leave my children home with my hubby and I've decided to go to the Cedar Springs Retreat. I have NEVER been apart from my kids, let alone for 2 weeks! I feel this is something I have to do, to detox and to get on raw 100%! I want to learn and relax, and do something for myself for the first time in years! I talked to my husband and he is totally supportive.
I would like to eventually take a course and become certified to teach others to be raw - its perfect, considering there isn't much help around here! That will come later, once I have mastered my lifestyle first! (One thing first heh!)
I'm so excited that finally I'm taking more steps in getting to 100% raw!

Can anyone else recommend any other raw retreats that I should look into first? The reason I was thinking of Cedar Springs is because its a little closer to home - well kind of!

I don't know of any, but I wanted to congratulate you on taking steps to help yourself. ;) Hope you really enjoy this time and can bring it home to the fam.

I have no ideas about retreats, but I'm sure excited for you having that time to relax, heal and recharge! Sometimes it's nice just play the role of YOURSELF, not mom and wife for a while. Enjoy!

Hi Jewell,

I'm glad to hear there are raw foodists in Calgary! I just moved from Calgary to Edmonton in March, and became raw in May. I have yet to meet any raw foodists in Edmonton yet, but my husband and I are doing it together!
