hey,
this is the beginning of my 8th day of water fast, I felt great and full of energy all the time but since yesterday I am developing a cold with quite a sore throat.
What do you think about this? Do you believe that it could be a major detox? I will keep fasting and resting at least until I am healed and my tongue will be nice and pink again, not it is quite white and almost yellowish, yuck!
I am not doing enemas, flushes or laxatives, should I?
Thank you!

Sara

Fragola, it's hard to believe you are this far along and have these kinds of questions. While fasting is a miraculous process and the results are certainly worth the effort, knowlege about what you are doing is probably the most important thing. I would hope that you can get your questions address by some truly experienced people. I would steer clear of 'aids', at this point especially. That you are experiencing energy all the time is unusual as well, though not totally uncommon.

If you are starting to develope a major crisis it would be WISE to be in an evironment where you can be looked after. I don't like the sound of how you are approaching all this, but that is just me. I like to have a safe journey when doing more than a week fasting with water.

I see you are in Italy. Any fasting practioners in Italy? I would recommend some people but they are on the other side of the globe.

Anyway, my advice is seek professional guidance. This is not something I would want to get advice from in an internet forum of well intentioned strangers.

Additionally, if you wait till your tongue is totally clear (possibly a few more weeks) you will not be in an independant physical or emotional state with regards to your re-introduction to feeding. It must be done cautiously and in steps that insure you do not overeat.

All the best.

Thank you Cornvalley.
I do not really want to go over 14 days anyway, because I do not have anyone that can support me here.
I thought that 2 weeks could be good enough for a detox without being in any danger.
i asked those questions mainly because I was surprised to have a crisis at the 8th day, I was expecting the first 3 days to be hard, but I felt really good until now.
I have been listening to my body, sleeping when I needed to sleep (but I haven't had the need of so much sleep), and trying to take things easily.

I really appreciate your concern, thank you so much for your advice and kindness.

Hey Sara, sounds good here! You are probably going to survive. Just careful with re-feeding, it's not easy to access how to portion your meals. Can start bingeing before you know it.
Just to give you some info, a detox crisis can be anywhere along the fast, and for some individuals, more-so as they get deeper into the reserves. I saw a person with vomiting 35 days into a water fast. Their liver was expelling huge amounts of bile and chemicals over a few days. So, as it is possible, one must be careful.

The climate seems a little chilly in Italy for fasting right now. In Southern California we are going to hit around 100 degrees F today with very low humidity (25%). Perfect for fasting!! Come on over.
Stay well.

I think I am already feeling better, hopefully I will be okay tomorrow, but you are right, it is quite chilly here!! The fact is that this crazy weather was unexpected, it should be quite warm at this time of the year, but not this year apparently :( so I am craving sun like crazy!
I also know that re-feeding is the hardest part, and I am already trying to put myself in a good state of mind. I am planning at least another 14 days of raw and fresh food, no nuts and fats or dried food, and very small portions, and I really hope to be strong enough for that. I will ask my boyfriend to supervise me, he can be really controlling sometimes :D
thank you again Cornvalley for your supportive words.
Ciao, Sara
