I'm looking for a good salad dressing that doesn't contain soy. I seem to keep finding recipes with Bragg's in it and that won't work for me.

Does anyone know of any? I'd really appreciate it. I'm craving a really big salad.

My absolute favorite salad dressing is this (I don't have exact measurements because I never measure): First, I put some good olive oil (quality is very important) in my salad bowl - I'd say I use about 2 or 3 tablespoons. Then I add either lemon, or my favorite, lime juice, and a dollop of honey. Whip it up with a whisk until it emulsifies, taste, and then add the salad.

I used to also add a bit of Dijon mustard, too, and I guess mustard is really easy to make (raw), so I will be trying that eventually.

Italian salad dressing.....

2 cups olive oil
1 cup tarragon vinegar
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp marjoran
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
tsp fresh cracked pepper

walnut orange dressing...

1/3 cup walnuts
1 large clove garlic
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp fresh dill

Thanks for the replies and Spectatrix - thanks for the link. It's been difficult for me to find recipes without Braggs or honey and there were many in there. I did a search yesterday and didn't see that link.

Thanks again. Oh fruit, that Italian one sounds great. So many to choose from.

ETA - what's Terragon vinegar?

I use this dressing on my salad every single day:

hemp oil
apple cider vinegar (I put about half/half of oil/vinegar)
dash of agave syrup
dash of cayenne

The four together are really good - Sometimes I will add ginger (also good)

You can always use Nama Shoyu in place of Bragg's. That is, unless you can't have wheat.

That also contains soy so I can't have it. Thanks.

ShantiDass,

I can't get Nama or Braggs here and I have recently asked how to substitute that - most replies said I won't miss it anyway if I don't know the taste of either :)

My suggestion: Just substitute or leave it out.

See my recent thread - salad dressing quick and easy. It's tomato based and is really good and 'hearty'.

If anyone wants to be lazy,I have just finished a bottle of the spicy salad dressing from Glaser Farms and it was devine.
