I read a post that you make things up ahead of time and store them in the feezer like onion bread, enchilada and pizza crust. what do you store these items in? and how do you thaw them. Also I know this has been discussed also what is the deal with the corn in the enchilada's and can you give me any special thing to do with the onion bread? I have nver made it and I am getting really bored with food right now. Do you know what post this was because you had some great suggestions for someone new and I can't find it. How do you make mustard? Thank, Cindy

bumping this up
We just had the enchiladas not too long ago and they were really good. The corn we used was actually very sweet so it almost tasted like they had sweetener in them but they didn't. We used frozen corn b/c fresh corn is just now starting to come in and it doesn't look very good.

Hi, Yep, we make tons of stuff and freeze it. we place them into a ziplock freezer bag, sometime we double them depending on the item or how long we intend to freeze it.
we don't thaw them per se', we place them in the dehydrator to warm up, this thaws them and also makes them warm and satisfying.
we buy fresh raw corn, or grow it ourselves, then we cut it off the cob, then freeze in double bags, or we just buy it frozen in the HFS, that is NOT blanched, which heats it.
onion bread, I use or pizza wrap, and I use them for tortillas, or sandwiches, or tacos, or pizzas or anything I want to hold or have a bread type addition to.
I take a burger patty and put two pieces of onion bread, then lettuce, tomate, white onion, mustard and some raw mayo, or I take an onion bread, top with marianara sauce, fresh basil, sliced mushroom, crushed garlic, pineapple, fresh or sun dried tomatoes, etc on top and it's a pizza, or I take an onion bread, and some burger crumbles (I make these from Alissa's meat loaf recipe and dehydrate then freeze, or I make them into burger patties, dehydrate and freeze) and add chopped tomato, lettuce, onion, and jalepenos and some salsa, and I have a tostada or taco or burrito etc.
mustard, we grow our own mustard, and you take it, grind up the seeds, add a little vinegar, salt, and turmeric, and mix, it's excellent and very hot, if you like it sweet -- which I do, I add some agave' nectar to it. yummy
