So I'm eating SO much food. It is unreal. I have an avocado every day. I just made half a batch of miso mustard and it tasted so good that I ate all of it. I have been laying off the nuts. When I have cashews in the house it is like a cashew free for all. Before I know it I have an empty container. The food is so good that I can't contain myself. Am I going to get fat? Do I need to cut down? I mean I must be eating like 3000 calories a day. I havn't gained weight .... yet. I think I'm going to try to just do juice for 1/2 the day and the eat. That way maybe I can eliminate a few unnecessary snack attacks. Any input. Am I going crazy... does anyone else do this. Do I need to seek help for my fridge invading, recipe hording, batch eating, crazy obsession? Thanks in advace!

How long have you been raw? Just wondering, because my sister and I noticed intense hunger A)the first week we were raw, and B)the week before our cycle. Otherwise hardly ever WANT to eat. I just shrug and figure, if it's raw, my body needs it and it's beneficial. We have this idea that what we eat should be strictly regimented and pretty consistent every day. Why? Animals in the wild don't eat like that. The human body, especially the amazing raw body, is intelligent enough to deal with variations in diet. It's the long haul trend that is important. If you find you are eating 3 million (hee!) calories every day for 3 months and putting on a ton of weight to go along with it, I'd be concerned. Otherwise, have a little trust in your amazing raw body. :) JMO, but I think you're just fine if you let go of a little stress.

Jeeezzz, thanks Eveleaf. You know, it is funny that you say that because I AM PMSing and I am just crossing the threshold of my first week raw. Well... maybe that explains it. Good enough for me. On with the EATING! LOL

many people have found that they are ravenous the first couple of weeks for two reasons, one they are detoxing, and are craving some cooked food, but since you eating cooked your body is still telling you to eat and eat and eat, hoping you will eat that cooked food.
the other is that your body is finally able to start assimilating the food you are eating so it is so overjoyed at being able to do that, that it just wants more and more.

You will get through it and your hunger will pass. Don't worry so much about calories. They are not an important concern when doing raw. This is not part of a raw food lifestyle. Your body will tell you what foods you need and don't need. For me I take spells where I will eat 1-3 avocados a day and then none for weeks or months. Nuts and seeds work the same way for me. If you need it you will have it. Calories and fat out issues for people with standard diets not us.
