I made several pitchers of this chocolate milk while camping this past week. Yeah, I brought my Ktec on its first camping trip. I think it had a good time. It fried a couple of fuses in my travel trailer!

This recipe is so simple that it has probably been created by some raw chef out there. If this is your recipe, please take credit for it. But it was new to me. :)

Sorry I did not measure so I'll give you the best I can.

Toss following into a mega blender (Vitamix or Ktec):
handful of almonds (soak 'em if you feel like it)
about 2 cups of water
generous dose of salt (believe it or not, you really need a good bit of salt for this to taste yummy....try 1 tsp then add more to taste)
1/2 tsp vanilla
a good bit of sweetener (I used honey AND stevia for this) just sweeten to taste
some ice cubes
a couple of tablespoons of cocoa

Whirl in your blender until smooth. This stuff was so good. My little boy kept asking for it over and over again.

You gotta try this. It's filling and cures the sweet tooth. And it's quick! :p
As a matter of fact, I think I am going to go make one now. haha

That sounds good! I actually haven't tried chocolate milk out of almond milk yet. I DO make chocolate milk out of Raw Food/Real World's brazil nut milk with the coconut oil in it though YUM.

Fresh raw chocolate milk while camping!!! That sounds very soothing.

That sounds good :D

Lately, I've been drinking a lot of almond-cashew chai. I soak almonds and cashews together to make a nut milk and then I add chai spice (which is my own mix, of cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom) and some agave to sweeten it. Yum!

I just made a pitcher of this stuff and we all (2 kids and hubby) guzzled it down.

Yes, it was a very soothing camping drink. I tell ya, there is just something about eating (and drinking) raw out in nature. I can't get enough of it. We had a few racoons come to share a banana or two with us too. And the deer came when they smelled the watermelon. I felt like Snow White or something. LOL

Chailife - I have never been camping so pardon my ignorance, but where do you plug the blender in?

Guppy,

We camp at state parks where there are water and electric hook ups. Since our travel trailer does not like the power the blender sucks, I just run an extension cord from the power box into the trailer and it works out fine. Not "exactly" camping but it's pretty close. :)
