I wrote to this woman, Margaret Diubaldo, because I had heard in an interview that she was trying to add more raw into her diet. You have have seen her in the fitness mags like Oxygen, etc. She's a competitive bodybuilder and fitness model. She wrote me right back, which was really nice. Just thought I'd share as those of us into fitness might be interested in what a "pro" has to say....(I know rawfigure is a pro too!! I love all your posts-R.F.)

No giant revelations, just interesting....

Hi Theresa

Thank you very much for writing. I have been trying to add more raw foods into my diet but have found it to be close to impossible to eat for a competition and stay raw. My diet is pretty high in animal protein sources right now but I hope to give raw another go when I am not preparing for a show.

When I do eat raw foods I find I am much more satisfied and feel really clean inside.

All the best to you!
Maggie

Interesting to note is many competitive fitness and bb are not willing to abandone the high amount of Animal Protein & Whey Protein Drinks, and (heaven forbid) add more fruit and greens to the diet.

So many are willing to continue to feel bad, constipation and gas...in trade for a place in a Show. I did for years, then I then decided feeling well & health over thropies on a shelf.

Most trainers will not work with you if you are Raw Veggie..they say cannot be done ! My last trainer tried hard to get me a diet plan, raw, but she still added soy and eggs, sushi even after I explained...she said I cannot get into contest form on Raw...off season I cannot add size.

Also there is a concept carrots and fruit make you smoother !
