Hi family, I think of you all that way, which is cool for me.
I have been raw for 76 days now, the longest I have ever been 100% raw, I used to slip up at about 2 months, but I've done it longer this time, and I feel pretty good about it all, still not losing any more weight, but I feel sooooo good.
Well, here is the deal.
this Friday we leave to go to one of the three big fairs that we do each year, we usually make a ton of money, and we get to stay at this super fantabulous bed and Breakfast, haunted, written up in all kinds of fancy shmancy magazines, marvelous 4 course breakfasts, foods that are world renowned, all included in the price.
So, last year, I was raw, and decided to go on ahead and enjoy their food, I mean it is the best cooked food on the planet, and they made it all vegetarian for me, etc. the prepare anything and everything super gourmet, beyond belief, and it is free. (my favorite price) Plus I have two dear friends that live in that town, we usually go out to my other dear friend's Greek restaurant and I would get the BEST Greek food in the world there, see the newest Belly Dancers, and stay up most of the night after closing visiting and drinking Turkish coffee, and doing readings with the grounds.
All in all, it is a beautiful weekend.
humm, I keep going off on a tangent, maybe I don't want you all to know, but I'm gonna' tell yah anyway, so it is all about food and abundance, and friendship and wealth, and visiting, and being able to buy anything, and getting gourmet food for free, and friends.
Last year, I had every intention of eating the cooked food, then getting right back on RAW the minute I got back to town, but that didn't happen, this is what happened,
about 1 week before I left for this fair, I decide well, I didn't want to be sick by eating cooked food while I was at a fair, so I should transition back into eating cooked a little at a time, RIGHT!!! LOL how I justified all of this,
so I started eating cooked food about a week before we left, then gorged on cooked food while I was there, knowing full well, that it was the last cooked food I would ever get in my life, HAHAHA LOL, and then on the way home, I didn't want to go through detox, so I ate cooked all the way home too,
then I was so busy after the fair, I didn't want to detox, so I ended up being cooked until the first of September, now can we all say "ADDICT?"
LOL, so this year, I have a different plan, I am a mod, so I feel accountable, and that I SHOULD be able to do anything, that I suggest you all do, so I NEED to stay 100% raw.
and I FEEL great when I am raw, so I NEED to stay 100% raw.
I know, I think better when I am raw, so I NEED to stay 100% raw,
last time, I was really sick with a gallbladder attack in the middle of the night, so I NEED to stay 100% raw,
I love feeling good, and knowing what to eat, I have a baby dehydrator to take with me, and the B&B will make me delicious fresh fruit plates every day, and fresh squeezed juices, too, no need for their gourmet coffee and pastries.
I will take my brownies and Rawkinlocs' cinnamon rolls, and lots of crackers and buy fresh fruit along the way, and have a delicious Greek salad at my friends, with no feta cheese, and lots of tomatoes and kalamata olives, and onion, and greens, and fresh tomatoes, and cucumber, etc.
I will allow myself to eat anything I want as long as it is raw, I will not feel deprived, because my new mantra is
" I don't HAVE to eat raw, I GET to eat raw."
and I felt if I tell you now, then I NEED to be a good little girl so I can come back on Monday night, and let you know I DID it, and you can too.
send me loving thoughts and lots of support,
and you can write it here if you like too, as I love to read your words.
thank you all my dearest raw family
many blessings,
Rawpriestess

I am sending lots and lots of loving thoughts and support your way. (I am also sending you lots of money making thoughts also) If anyone can do it, you can.
You have helped me so much with your posts in my whole 8 days raw. I quote you frequently to my friends and family. "RP says...." You have responded to my posts which has been very helpful and it's also been helpful for me to read your replies to others.
We are here for you and will be thinking of you.

Wow sounds like a wonderful weekend, wish I could go with you!
Anyway I know you can do it Rawpriestess, you are strong. And besides, like you said you GET to eat raw....it's like a privilage lol. When you see someone else stuffing themselves with pastry just think hahaha i get to raw and feel good and let my beautiful aura shine clearly all day long. yay. if that helps at all, lol. Besides, to me anyway I was practically drooling when you described the foods you ARE going to eat (raw) and well that did not happen when you mentioned the gourmet pastries and coffee and such. lol. So you are the queen there (or priestess, rather lol) and thus you get all the good food lol ;)
We all love you RP!
Have a wonderful weekend :)

I look at it this way...we choose to eat raw because it makes us feel great. So, why would you want to eat the cooked food? Ok, it's not that easy....but it can be and should be. So, be positive. Don't think...oh, I can't eat this and that.
And maybe, tell people that you eat raw, that way they will ask questions and you can educate them a little.

Our Wonderful RP,
Look at this as just another wonderful challenge in reaching your RAW goals. Use mental imagery and think how confident you will be when you return home and you're still 100% RAW. Then you'll know you truly can do this forever. Think and constantly remind yourself how incredible that you feel RAW vs. how cra_ _ _ that you feel SAD.
How about turning the table on your friends and tell them what they are missing out on by NOT being 100% RAW. Then turn around and fix them some simple and wonderful RAW dishes - entrees, desserts, whatever. Take them some of your fantastic RAW foods - brownies, whatever - make them envious of YOUR life choices.
RP, I think that I speak for all of us when I say that I'm excited to hear about what a wonderful 100% RAW weekend that you will have had. Looking forward to hearing about it. It will give a huge boost of enthusiasm and confidence to alot of people on this forum that they can also succeed- I guarantee it.
Thanks,
Scott

hi rp,
that sounds amazing! what a wonderful weekend you have in store...
first of all, i totally relate to your cooked addict story and "this is the last cooked meal ever" binge HA!
I think you could print what you wrote and carry it with you as a reminder. ALso, the fact that you have intended to stay raw means that you will. I also relate to the wanting to experience delicious cooked things with family and friends, etc. i find that when i intend to stay raw through these functions, and i plan ahead for challenges, bring my own treats, etc, then i actually can effortlessly stay raw and have fun while my friends eat their french fries! (mmmm.....french fries) -haha
when I do not decide ahead that i will be raw - often i do like you did last year, i say, ok i will allow myself to enjoy this fancy restaurant meal, etc -- then i do eat cooked, and feel gross usually after (but never guilty!)
have the best raw weekend ever! i know the b&b will be so excited to accomadate your raw life!

Hi Rawpriestess,
You said it yourself, if I counted correctly, 5 times that you NEED to be RAW!! but just in case you need to hear it to believe it, You NEEd to be raw!! ;)
I think you should print out your post and read it whenever you have a weak moment of doubt. I have faith in you, you seem like a very strong-willed person.
However we are all human, and you are capable of slipping up like the rest of us. I hope I speak for everyone saying we would forgive you and be right there to make sure you could get back on track.
Have a wonderful weekend, it's not all about the food. :)

I am sending you well wishes.
I know how hard it is to stick with something and I'm not even full raw right now, Honestely right now I've gone back to eating vegan foods and am having a hard time going back to raw, I guess like you said you don't want to go through detox, that's how I feel.
I feel like a hypricrite telling you to be strong when I'm not but.... I still want you too and maybe through you eating raw foods and staying strong that will inspire me as well as others that have an "addiction" to food.
You always inspire me in what you do and what you say.
Have a blast during your trip!

It seems to me that people end up going off raw when they go on vacation or go to visit family/friends etc. They think they might go off raw because they will be surrounded by all this cooked food and perhaps also, for some people, pressure from their family/friends that are on SAD. But I say, you are eating 100% raw at home, why should it be any different when you are traveling? Don't be tempted by food that will weigh you down and make you tired.
Be sure to bring raw foods that you absolutely love (like the brownies). Bring your favorite raw foods and then you can eat them instead if you start to feel tempted.
I hope you have an absolutely wonderful time. You have nothing to worry about, besides you don't have to be raw, you get to be raw :) How fun is that!! You can come back feeling great! :D

Dear RawPriestess,
I have been 100% raw for 45 days. Two weeks ago I went on an all expense paid business trip to Boston with several co-workers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner without $ limit...of course it was all about seafood, and Italian food in north Boston, etc. I wasn't sure I was going to survive! I did take my juicer with me and asked my team leader if I could spend $ in the grocery store. I bought everything I wanted without a care....blueberries, mangoes, pineapple, nuts, etc. I had the most energy of anyone with me. One girl vomited her seafood platter, another mightily embarrassed herself while under the influence with a client, another complained about her gallbladder....all complaints associated with over-indulgence. I had a couple tempting moments, but when I really thought about it, I think it was more about getting everything free, then that I really, really wanted to eat SAD. And now, I'm a legend at work :D and people want to know about eating raw.
You will eat like a Queen and to have someone prepare it for you too....marvelous!!! Enjoy your special time and as always, thankyou for your candor. It's so supportive to hear of one's struggle to stay raw...it is harder some days than others.

Hey Triple G maybe you can do the raw thing with your woman. That would be the ultimate support.
RP even though you know this food is going to look and smell and taste absolutely fantastic, just remember the way you will feel *after* you eat it, mentally and physically.
You will have that drug induced brain fog, wake up with hang-overs and bad breath and stinky "other places". Then no matter what, you'll be craving all kinds of things for days on end.
So no matter what not one lick. Not one bite.
And if that doesn't work maybe a little Jewish guilt trip will:
We'll all be waiting here for you when you get back - don't let us down!

Well I really wish you the best of luck possible, and I hope you enjoy the getaway also! I hope it is a beautiful as you explain, even better than last time! :)
LOL, so this year, I have a different plan, I am a mod, so I feel accountable, and that I SHOULD be able to do anything, that I suggest you all do, so I NEED to stay 100% raw.
I have noticed that you have mentioned in other posts that you have to stay raw because you are a moderator. Why do you think that is why you should stay raw? That would make me want to think about what the real reason is you want to be raw. I think people should be raw because it is what they believe is healthy. If you were not a moderator right now, do you think you would have stayed raw this long? You should do this for you, not because you are a moderator. I hope you are able to search deep inside and find out why you really want to be raw.
I wish you so much luck, and will be thinking positive thoughts for you!

RP, the fact that you wrote this post, that you were so honest and open with us about your feelings about this, shows that in your heart and soul you want to stay 100% raw. You deserve big pats on the back just for telling us because that was the first step in not allowing yourself to eat any cooked. I really like what rawlee said about dealing with the same situation. You were saying that the food is all free... and that they'll make you anything... so... all the raw concoctions they can make up for you are still free too! So enjoy it all raw, someone else doing all the chopping and mixing, juicing and blending, and enjoy your friends while someone else serves you all the wonderful raw food you want...
Sounds like a raw blast to me! :)
And yes, we would still support you if you slipped BUT I'm not going to give you permission and say don't worry about it if you slip because that will make it too easy for you to eat cooked... Soooooo... you can do this! ALL RAW! :)

Dear RP,
I dont' think it is guilt or fear that will keep you raw but just the fact that you have chosen this path. You know it is right for you.
You have been an inspiration to me and so many on this board. I love your creative ideas in recipes and your encouragement you give to so many on this board.
I already know you have won the battle. I already know you will stay raw. I already know you will enjoy the company of your friends. I already know you will enjoy abundance at the fair. Now, do you already know it too?
Raw Blessings,
Julie
Rawpriestess, one thing I've noticed about you on this board is that you're always giving wonderful advice to others and rarely asking for support yourself. Now when you need support, I want you to know you have mine. I wish I had something wonderfully inspiring to share with you to help keep you on the 'Raw Track'. Unfortunately I haven't been blessed with that ability, but just know that I have faith in you. I know you can go away on this wonderful trip, and stay raw and enjoy it all the more for doing so. I hope you have a blast!

JUST A FEW THOUGHTS TO EDIFY YOU!!!
Imagine how profound your readings will be with complete clarity
In fellowship with good friends, don't adulterate the process by celebrating what you get to eat instead celebrate them ;)
Marvel in the CREATOR not the creation
Host a raw demo at the B&B and make new acquaintences friends and/or clients
FOOD IS FUEL
Sleep a deep sleep, dream in color and rest the body for the next cycle
Bless the universe by donating your meals to a shelter or invite a homeless one to enjoy your room and board in your stead...
FAST ...
Just some alternatives :)
May love light and loot be yours!!!

Dearest RP ~ I am going to quote THE Alissa herself: "Just don't entertain the thought". I LOVE that quote.... I struggle daily BUT honesty is what keeps me coming back, trying again. I am working on a visualization technique maybe you could try. When I see cooked food, I stop thinking of it as food and I try to think of it more like say, a toaster. You wouldn't eat a toaster, right? If we can stop seeing it as food (because we all know it really isn't) maybe that would help. The Raw Force is strong with you young Skywalker.... :D You WILL do great! Strive for excellence and leave perfection to God, that's his business. LOTS OF LOVE YOUR WAY...

You will do great! You will get to eat raw, afterall. Your companions will be gorging themselves on some tasy stuff, yes but it's all dead and already in the process of rotting their bodies away. You will be eating pure life and food infused with sensuality and god/goddess energy. Gorge yourself on your raw treats if you feel you need a little excess. All will be well and you'll be the healthiest one within miles. Enjoy!

You do seem like a strong individual. I am sure you will have no problems staying raw. You have come this far! Ask Draggon if he will be raw with you that week, for support. He seems like such a great guy. I am sure he will do it for you.
Hi RP,
I ,too, get anxious pre-event esp. if i have had LOVELY food there in the past.
My thoughts are and will be with you and remember serenity is as close as your breath. Breathe in faith and let go fear. If you feel the urge take a minute or 2 break and regroup. I BET that when u get there you will not even crave the items and IF you do remember it will pass!!
I ,in the past wrote down on an index card all the great gains I have made since ALL RAW and carried it with me in my bag/purse. When tempted just a look at the card refreshed my memory and made me REALLY think before I acted.
Best always,
JMD

ShantiDass, thanks so much for jumping in so quickly to support me,
Dragggon, my beloved man, you are my life, the sky and the moon to me, you ARE my support.
Lunar*Fey, sweet one, I like the way you think, I get to eat raw, because I am the Priestess, I'll use that one. LOL
Twinyoga, you are right, raw food makes me feel great!!
Scott, you are right, I know I can truly do this forever, and I thank you for your confidence.
Shakti17, that is an excellent idea, I think I will print out my words, and carry them with me.
Im2Fruity,yes, I NEED to be raw, it keeps me sane, and on my path, balanced, well, OKAY, I was on my path even eating cooked, but my path was to the raw lifestyle, so here I am, and you are right, it isn't all about the food, that is my cooked food addiction, and old poverty onsciousness ideas kicking in, or kicking me in the butt, one of the two, I was brought up so poor, that even now, sometimes, it's hard to beleive that there is always going to be enough food to eat, so many times I went to bed hungry as a child. Thank Goddess things change.
Jenjenn, It's okay that you are't 100% raw, we are all working on this, hopefully, when I come back Monday night, and you read my words, you will say, "Hey, I'll give it another try." and then we can do this together.
heabrook, YES, I get to eat raw!!!!, and luckily, I have some knowledge as to why I'll be happy and awake all weekend during the fair. something that has been challenging in the past.LOL
rawlee, WOW 45 days, I know how great that feels!!, and yes, I'm gonna' enjoy all of the fresh, ripe, raw, organic produce I can find, I'm going to East of the mountains, and it is fresh fruit time there, so there should be an abundance of anything and everything, yum!
Sharon in colorado, I accept your Jewish guilt with the love that it is given. LOL
Cornvalley, LOL, HA HA HA, You bet, I'm gonna' come back and crack that whip against my thigh high black leather boots! and I'm gonna' eat my raw brownies and Rawkinloc's Raw cinnamon rolls while I'm doing it. LOL
Greenfeline, yep, no yucky cooked nonsence, thanks.
Brianna, I have faith in me too. thanks.
EmeraldGlow, I'll be chanting Go Rawpriestess, Go Rawpriestess in my booth, thinking of you, and I just know the other vendors, are gonna' wonder...... (well, they already WONDER about me anytway), but I will be with other strange and delightful people who talk to ghosts, and have alien babies, who walk on fire, and channel 35,000 year old entities, so It feels so familiar. LOL
Cranberrypineapplebanana, I thank you for your thoughts, -- I am raw for me, and when I became a moderator on this forum, it just kicked it up a notch for me, because I believe that to help facilitate the healing in anyone, I must first do it in myself, you see, I could NEVER ask or expect ANYONE to even attempt ANYTHING, that I can't do myself.
RawFoodieMom, thanks for your support, and your NOT giving me permission, I sooo understand that, you are such a good "mom" that way. I'm gonna' eat all the wonderful fresh raw fruits I can find, I'm sure they'll come up with some fabulous things.
VibraTechJulie, Yep, you are so right, I have chosen this path, it is one of my many life paths, that was revealed to me as I am walking, instead of before, and I already know, I'll do great too, thanks so so very much for your words.
Shan, Yes, I love giving advice, if I've been there, and I don't ask much for support, as I've lived most of my life without it, it is very dificult for me to admit that I need support, or love, or assurance, it just isn't my nature to have needs, that I acknowlege, I think it is my "leader" past lives, that makes it hard to be "human". LOL
LifeAgift, YES, YES, and YES, all of your words are so full of true meaning for me. Food is Fuel, is one I choose to become more familiar with. thank you.
PDMagnusen, I agree, that we are tested in our goals, and I shall do my best to rise to the occasion.
Gosia, thank you, I'll eat some really great fruit and think of you. :o)
rawfigure, I accept your hug and I wish to give you one back (((((((((HUG))))))))))),
Justinesmith, you are right, I won't even entertainthe thought, it just isn't possible to have the word cooked and food in the same sentence. LOL
gatorgrrl, 22 days WOW, you must feel terrific, I know I do at 75+ days, and I promise to do my best, not to beat myself up, ever again.
misslinda, all I can say, is snort!!!
lissomllama, I love that, it's all dead and already in the process of rotting their bodies away, I'll keep that in my thoughts, LOL (I am soooooo ghoulish, and morbid, way before Goth, I WAS Goth)
Nenyath, I will indeed, go ahead and have a wonderful weekend, and I shall fly forever free, on the wings of raw. I like that.
learningrawways, Yes, I do everything best on raw, thank you,
kiddies, YES, I have strong support with my beloved man, he is the best.
JMD, I love the breath idea, I will use that, probably over and over and over again, thank you for that idea.
Oh, I do hope I didn't miss anyone, I love you all so very much, such a wonderful family we all have here, with so much love and support for each of us.
I am so very blessed, and Ill make sure to let you all knwo how I did this weekend, when we get back, probably late on Monday night.
We only do 3 fairs a year now, used to do over 30, and wow, what a life that was, but now things are at a slower pace, although you wouldn't get Dragggon to admit that, as we work about 20 hours a day. LOL
and life is grand, I feel blessed to call you all my friends, well, we will be leaving first thing Friday morning, and I'm taking my mini 4 tray excalibur, raviolies, burgers, marinara sauce, onion bread, brownies, Rawkies' cinnamon rolls, and pesto stuffed mushrooms, then buy fresh fruits and produce on the road, I know it's gonna' be such fun. and exciting.
much love and thanks to you all.

rawhomeschoolmom, I will indeed think about how healthy I am, and eat my beautiful fresh ripe raw foods and not the cardboard pizza and things they have there. the smell of the late' may get to me, so I've got BROWNIES MMMMM and warm camomile tea, that Dragggon dug up and dehydrated for me just yesterday, so I have plenty. I am even taking my baby 4 tray dehydrator to warm up some food at the fair, just in case I need a rawviolie fix, LOL
ChaiLife, I will remember (and own) that no cooked food tastes as good as RAW feels, I love that line, from the first time I read it here on this very forum.
Nini, I accept your support and strength, and I will bring back reports of the food that I had, I actually partially fasted yesterday, only a small almond milk and 2 oranges, I was feeling tired and sluggish, and so just wanted to cleanse a bit, I may eat hardly anything this weekend, because I had an amazing evening making all kinds of stuff, I felt to much more alive, after just a couple of oranges. So, We'll see what I eat this weekend, but I'm going totally prepared. YES!!!
Cinnamon, YEP, I love these fairs too, that is why we still do them, used to do about 30 a year, now we only do 3 or so, We've met some pretty amazing people, and not jus "met" them, as we eat with them, party with them etc. These fairs are like old home week, as we connect with friends we've known over 30 years some of them, and some we just meet at each new fair. and the Bed and Breakfast is one of the most beautiful Victorian homes around, absolutely gorgeous, written up in magazines, and has ghosts too, which we always get to visit. even when we don't want to , LOL like when we are sleeping, and they wake us up. LOL but even that can be fun.
YEP, we're gonna' have fun, and adventure and good times galore!!!

I just thought of something, it was after reading this quote from someone elses quote:

Have fun. I love the saying: no cooked food tastes as good as raw feels.
No cooked food tastes as good as raw tastes, really, I mean the first bite or two is kinda nice, but then realilty sinks in and your like yuck, "No cooked food tastes as good as raw tastes". I don't think we remember that till after we tasted the cooked because we have these emotional memories attatched to them, and it does seem like you do have emotional memories attatched to these fairs you attend.
Make sure you whip up some gourmet raw dishes, so you can feel like you are endulging, make up something new and exciting that you have never tried before. You might also be pleasantly surprized, they might be able to whip you up the best tasting raw gourmet food you have ever had, just like when they did the vegetarian food for you. ;)

I"M Back and I"M STILL 100% RAW
RAW
RAW
RAW
Well, I'll tell you a little about it, we drove over on Friday day, and I ate a couple of oranges in the car, and I decided not to take my dehydrator, just some burger patties, some of Rawkinlocs cinnamon rolls and some brownies, and a bunch of nuts.
I ate nuts and brownies and oragnes, and water, and was fine, we went out to dinner at our favorite place, will all of my friends, and I ordered a Greek salad, with no Feta cheese, and lots of tomatoes, and some kalamata olives, and the dressing on the side, which I found out was all raw, just olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic, so that was fine, I didn't eat hardly any of it, but it was good.
then we chatted all night, then went back to teh B & B and had a fantabulous breakfast, I ate a beautiful fruit plate, and had fresh juice for breakfast,a nd water.
then during the day I ate a couple of brownies and a burger patty each day, then at night, we went out with some friends, again, and I fasted, it was easier, and I really don't want to eat white tomatoes, who think they are red, and ice berg lettuce, LOL we ALL have been there, it was just easier to fast while out with friends, then eat my own food when we got back to the B & B, anyway, it was a blast, we stayed over one night because one of my regulars wanted me to do this big ritual and pay us major bucks, and I do mean major
anyway we made twice what we usually do at fairs, and then when I got home I had 10 pages of ebay sales and payments, I was sooooooo happy.
we made in 3 days, what we usually make in a month, so life is good, raw food is good, I'm happy and we got to see all our friends, and buy lots of cool fun woo woo stuff, and do a big neat ritual and it was a blast.
so
THANK YOU ALL MY RAW FAMILY,
YOU RAWK!!!
and I totally appreciate you sooooo very much, it's great, and I really love eahc and every one of you for supporting me.
WE RAWK!!!!

Oh YES, I've always used that secret, it was one of my first teachings, about 20 years ago, but it is always good to hear it again.
OH, YES, and I got to meet someone who has impacted my life greatly,
John Randolph Price, and his wife Jan were there, I got to talk to him, and tell him about my experience with his wonderful books.
my favorite is the Abundance book.
he was giving his lecture the same time I was giving mine, so I didn't get to hear his lecture, but I've read most of his books, and he is wonderful.

Hi, I'm in Manchester, England and am new to the forum. I'm slowly increasing my raw intake with a view to going 100% at some point. I really enjoy reading the posts but am not familiar with all the jargon! I see SAD (eating?) referred to quite a bit but don't know if it's an acronym and if so, for what? Also, Raw Priestess referred to Rawkinlocs' cinnamon rolls and I'd love to try them--would someone be able to tell me where I can find the recipe?
Many thanks,
Lyn

Hi and welcome Lyn... SAD is Standard American Diet and the recipe should be right here http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13622&highlight=cinnamon+rolls+recipe
At any time you need any thing, click the "banana key" where it says search, most often it's quite easy to find.. :p

Thanks, I just decided that feeling good was better than any cooked food would taste to me for a few minutes. LOL
so, I stayed raw, it was pretty easy actually. I mean I did think hummm, I could eat just one cooked meal, then I grabbed that monkey off my back, and tossed him, and said I'll just eat my good raw ripe, fresh foods and that is that.
I will be 90 days raw on June 13th, so I'm looking forward to that.
yes, I kept very busy, but my life is very busy, no rest for the wicked, or some such line.
the signs say
"Soulmate Portraits psychic readings"
and then the little one says
"Wizard's wands and staffs"
