Dear Debbie,
Thank you soooooo much for that!!! I am the HUGEST David Wolfe fan. I really enjoyed the interview -- he says things that just hit me right in the Center of my Heart. I have his DVD series, and everytime I watch it, I hear him say something new. I think, WOW, I've heard that before, but I'm hearing it in a new way or I feel like I'm hearing it for the first time because listening to him speak, there's so much information, knowledge and wisdom compacted into each and every sentence that it blows my mind sometimes. I have him to thank, along with Alissa and a few select other "angels" for me going raw and staying raw (for going on 14 mos. now).
Thank you (did I say that already?) :)
Sincerely,
Vicki

Well, I'm kind of an 'enjoyer' of his. i do enjoy reading the passion of his convictions but I find ironies within the promotional efforts more entertaining than illuminating.
Like the Jack LaLanne reference to make the case for raw foods and organics as a major part of having a vigorously long life. Now Jack is a proponent of vigorous exercise foremost, and diet secondly as being a sensibly sound whole foods based one with an emphasis on caloric moderation. He happens to be lacto ovo vegetarian with protiens mainly from egg whites. Fish occasionally.
On his site he never once refers to a diet system of thought. Eschewing it actually, saying it on his site in a quasi interview.
"What is Jack's opinion on today's diets?"
Jack says that there are too many diets out there and they are all trying to make a buck ($$$). Jack believes that if you count calories and work out regularly, that's all you need. Jack has always said it's not a diet, it's a new way of life.
So to make Jack LaLanne the most prominent example of Raw and Organic for long vigorous life that come to mind is probably something he needs to update as well. It's not easy, I would imagine, to find 90 year olds in that kind of shape and mental acuity with the 100% raw system over decades. Hopefully it will happen, maybe David could be the first of many to follow.

Ahhhh but Jack LaLane also is a big proponant of the juicing and has always pushed fresh fruits and vegies.. I remember this long ago when watching him on tv... (oh no telling my age here)...and now he himself is selling a juicer so.. Alot of what David says is true..
What website are you going to for Jack LaLane?

Yes, I remember watching him do those jumping jacks in B&W.
He definitely promotes the importance of fresh whole foods, as well as juicing and juicers (his own preferably).
Jacks' site is http://www.jacklalanne.com/
lot of fun stuff on there.

I really enjoyed reading this article. David Wolfe definetly sees raw as a living experience, not just a diet. I am such a fan of his! (Alissa is great, too)
