My daughter is 5 yrs old and almost a month ago I started to add more raw into her diet. We eat a lot more raw vegetables and greens now and less beans and other cooked foods.

Just recently she has started to bruise very easily. The other morning she woke up with bruises in really weird spots where she never used to bruise before, like her arms and one on her back.

What could be the cause for this? I've read lack of vitamin C but could that be possible with how many vitamin C rich foods we eat?
Please help!
Thanks.

I am curious to find out the answer to this. I have noticed that I am bruising more since going raw. The only times I ever had a problem with bruising (when I was on a SAD diet) was when I was not eating enough Vitamin C. I would just eat some oranges and the bruising would stop. Now, since I am eating so much Vitamin C, this does not make sense. I am confused as well.

I just did some research and found that bruising can be caused by b12, K and folic acid deficiency as well.

I don't think my daughter has a deficiency in any of those.

bruising can be a sign of dietary iron deficiency. My husband started bruising in strange places the other day and I had him eat raisins. The NEXT day all his bruises were gone. The same goes for my 16 month old son, whenever he bruises I give him raisins. Works like a charm!
