I personally wouldn't rely on wheatgrass as a source of B12, but it definitely is worth drinking. The stuff is absolutely amazing. I do think it is important to take some sort of a B12 supplement though.

thanks brianna,

i appreciate your response but i am curious one, why you would not count on wheatgrass as a source of b12 and two, why you think it is so important to take ab12 supplement and also what type of b12 supplement you recomend?

If you go to the front page of the forum index, and go down the page a bit, you will come to a forum called, need to know more about raw? here you will find info on protein, B12 and calcium

harp,

There is a thread you started called "Wheatgrass" in this same forum ...I will merge that thread with this one. Anytime you start a thread and not receiving the answers you want, just bump up the same thread! :) Thanks!

B12 is one of those things that seemingly will forEVER be debated...you CAN get it without supplementation/you canNOT get it without supplementation.

The debates have gone on and on and on and it appears will continue to do so.

I don't think I've ever heard of wheatgrass being a good source of b12, but I could be wrong *shrugs*.

But the past discussions on b12 are worth searching out and reading to form your own thoughts...but you will get many varying opinions on it!!

I wouldn't rely on it because the science is not really certain, at least as far as I know, it isn't, and I don't want to take any chances because B12 deficiency (perniciouis anemia) can be a very serious thing. I'd rather not take chances with my health. I take the Lifegive brand of B12 from Hippocrates Health Institute, where I work.

brianna, you say you don't want to take a chance with your health but some raw foodists say that taking supplements can in fact be harmful. do you not agree that there is some risk in taking supplements as well as in not taking them?
