I have been vegetarian for most of my life. I grew up in India in a family who strictly follows vegeterian diet. After I came to USA in 1993, I tried to eat meat - chicken etc but couldn't develop taste & now I am glad I couldn't develop the taste! I ate eggs for a while though! I decided to be Vegan in diet (not yet in lifestyle) since April 1998 after a I attended a seminar by Anthony Robbins.

Couple of years back, in April 2004, in another seminar by Anthony Robbins, I saw a video by David Wolfe on rawfood diet. This is when I came to know about rawfood world. From April 1998 until April 2004, my diet was approximately 30% rawfood. In April 2004, I decided to be rawfoodist and started eating 80% rawfood.

Now, I am around 98-99% rawfoodist. It's hard to measure in terms of percentage since there is no easy way to calculate it. When I visit my friend's place & if friend has cooked some food, out of respect for my friend, I eat a little bit cooked food. This happens once in couple of months. That's all cooked food I eat.

Recently, I did a small juice fast for three days. I felt bit tired some times during the three days but I could power through three days sheerly on will power! I am thinking of doing this once a month.

I live in Fremont, California i.e in San Francisco bayarea. After becoming rawfoodist, since my lifestyle has become very different from most of my friends, the distance between myself and my friends has been growing. I have been looking around for some rawfoodist locally in my area. I know there are plenty of them in San Franciso but it's bit far from where I live.

So I am looking forward to discuss various topics on rawfood, learn more about it and in the process may be make some new friends through this forum!

I think that's enough for now! :D
